Things to do in London, England: The Best Spas & Wellness

August 12, 2021 Vergie Nakamoto

The crown jewels, Buckingham Palace, Camden Market…in London, history collides with art, fashion, food, and good British ale. A perfect day is different for everyone: culture aficionados shouldn't miss the Tate Modern and the Royal Opera House. If you love fashion, Oxford Street has shopping galore. For foodies, cream tea at Harrod’s or crispy fish from a proper chippy offers classic London flavor. Music and book buffs will love seeing Abbey Road and the Sherlock Holmes Museum (at 221B Baker Street, of course).

I booked this spa for my daughter's birthday and was naturally worried as I had never visited this place before. When I called to make the reservation, I was told that they had a male and female therapist and asked if I minded having a male. I was not keen but everything else I had looked at was pretty expensive and too far out so I went ahead and booked. We arrived a little early so had to go to a coffee shop. When we returned, we completed the forms and were taken to our therapy rooms. The room was lovely although it initially felt a little cold and was quite bright. After the scrub, I took a shower and I'm not sure if it was me, but the water kept going cold. I told the therapist after and she apologised. After the shower I had a full body massage and at this point the therapist dimmed the lights. I have to compliment my therapist for paying attention to my lower back. I suffer with lower back pain and it always feel that when I have a massage, the concentration always seems to be on the upper back and shoulder. The massage was great, relaxing and therapeutic. Before we left, the manager offered me a £10 off voucher because the shower had gone cold. I wasn't expecting it, and the temperamental shower did not spoil my experience, but it was nice that it was acknowledged. Lovely little hidden gem and I will most definitely pay another visit. Thanks for the £10 off vouchers

We arrived late, we were lost. Max & Tony made allowances, and allowed us to float at no extra cost. I loved the pure feeling of relaxation while in the pod. It was quite soothing, I had sensory deprivation; allowing me to float away. I had shoulder, knee and elbow pain prior to my float. After my float, I had silky skin, pains and aches were less; definitely well worth the experience.
