We are happy to welcome you in Chateau du Tailhas, in Pomerol. We will present you the vineyard, the winery, how the wine is made from the vine to the bottle. The visit ends with the tasting of our wines. We are open for visits during the week days from 9am to 12 and from 2pm to 5pm. We are open during the weekend for visits with a reservation
We visited this winery as a 3 generation family (aged 67 to 10 months!) and were immediately greeted with a warm and friendly welcome. We’ve been on a few winery tours before but never had the pleasure of being shown round by the owner themselves! This made it a very unique experience. The vineyard has been in the family for 3 generations and it was fantastic to hear about the family history. It was also a great way to spend some time on a very hot afternoon - the wine cellars were nice and cool :-)

Such as in Courgis, in the Chablis region, there would have been once upon a time, on the Chateau l’Epine’s vineyard, a stele holding a thorn from the Christ crown. According to the legend, so would be the origin of the name Chateau l’Epine. Founded in 1910 by Gabriel Ardouin I, the vineyard is managed today by his grandson Gabriel II who works with passion and humility to create grand cru wines.
Vineyard owners and wine merchants for more than a 100 years, we work with passion and humility to create grand cru wines that represent the purest expression of our terroirs.
