Leicester's first live escape games! ASYLUM: You have been caught trespassing on an abandoned asylum and the spirit of Evelyn has trapped you in. She will not let you out until you have solved her murder. Solve or perish, the choice is yours.. CIRQUE DU SLAY: The circus is back in town... However all is not what it seems... It's prize act? An evil clown with a thirst for blood! Can you escape before you star in his line-up? CABIN: Cabin is home to an eyeless monster by the name of Eyeball Bill! After losing his eyes in freak game of poker, The legend was created! Curiosity makes you enter, can you escape before he returns to claim your eyes?!
A day out in Leicester took us to Escape Asylum today, where we tried all 3 of their rooms. Asylum...well...not a good idea if you’re sensitive to flashing lights or have heart problems! ????❤️ The first part of the room doesn’t quite fit with the rest of the theme but is good fun if you can overcome the frustration! Once we got past that the scares commenced & Games Master Olivia manipulated the atmosphere brilliantly to prey upon our natural nervousness at being locked in an asylum with the ghost of Edith, who wasn’t going to let us out alive unless we solved her murder. ????????????????⚗️????⚰️????This game is geared towards mental conundrums & centres upon solving one central puzzle. By the time we’d figured that out (with a lot of confusion & feeling a bit stupid along the way) we were just a bit too confused & slow at grasping how to complete the very final task & ran out of time. ⌛️????Whilst I didn’t enjoy his game as much as some, just because it doesn’t have as much puzzle type variety as we really like, it’s a well staged room which will certainly raise your pulse rate & the hour will fly by. ????⏰???? Having been killed by Edith in the Asylum our spirits went on to try their luck at Cirque du Slay’s circus. ???????????? Finding ourselves in Momo’s circus lair some of the tasks in there were quite straightforward, others a little trickier to figure out. Evil Clown Momo made us squirm to ask for help, but Kind Clown Momo repaid our efforts when we asked nicely enough & aptly named Games Master Mo played both parts brilliantly. ????????This game is a bit more practical than Asylum- if compared to the Crystal Maze tv programme it’d feature a little bit each of skill, mental & physical. ????????♀️⏰ This was by far my favourite room of the day with a great blend of things to do, a cool quirky ending & a few giggles & squeals along the way! Having enjoyed the first two rooms we decided on the spur of the moment to go & have some dinner before coming back & taking on Eyeball Bill in his cabin. ????????????This was scare free, a welcome relief after the other two rooms! As with Asylum there’s one skill type puzzle near the beginning which doesn’t seem to have much to do with the rest of the theming but other than that it’s largely well thought out & immersive. It’ll have you scooting backwards & forwards and there are a wider variety of puzzle types in this room than Asylum, but it still has it’s challenges & similarly there were a couple of puzzles we just felt baffled by. ????????????????️???? Thankfully the Sheriff, well played by Olivia, was kind in rewarding our funky chicken dancing with some tips when we really needed them which meant we just about escaped with our eyeballs intact! ???????? This is the only room I’d say is potentially family friendly, depending entirely on how resilient your child is. Compared to many escape room venues this is a very professional & slick operation, themed from the moment you enter & well located within the city centre. The GM’s were really friendly, clearly enjoy their work & made our visit a great experience. The games here aren’t for the feint hearted, not overly suitable for young children & I wouldn’t say they’d be the best choice for your first ever escape room experience as they’re not as straight forward as some, but for a challenging & fun day out with some scary thrills & a few laughs as well they’re definitely worth the trip. ????⏱ Apparently they’re opening a new venue in Leicester this summer with 6 rooms. I really hope they’re not all scare/horror based as I’m not really a fan of the scary or really spooky, but either way I’m already looking forward to coming back & giving them a try. ☀️????????????????

Ape Index is an indoor bouldering, ninja warrior and obstacle race gym. We have a large bouldering wall and many ninja warrior and obstacle race obstacles and climbing training aids. We offer a training environment for children, beginners and supermen. There is something to pull every muscle in every direction and under every duress imaginable. You can learn to balance, swing, jump. You will get stronger, more supple, more agile and more aware. You can build strength, and not just specific single plane pushing or pulling strength, but overall strength from your toes to your head, pushing, pulling and gripping. You can develop power, not lifting power, but explosive pulling and jumping power. Then you can work your strength endurance on the pegboard or power endurance on the salmon ladder, or overall endurance by running through the obstacle courses.
We have just had our sons 8th birthday party at Ape Index. Where he also had his 7th birthday! Both times the experience has been brilliant from start to finish. Both Alex and Nigel are friendly and laid back which makes the whole experience really rather pleasant! The party offers great value for money compared to many more obvious venue choices. Nigel was endlessly patient with the 18 excitable 7/8 year olds and managed to control them without ever being cross. The kids all really enjoyed it. You get as much free time to play afterwards as you want, which is fantastic. Overall a brilliant birthday party at a great venue.

Escape Leicester - Solve clues and break codes in a live escape room. With a partner, family, friends or colleagues, what are you waiting for? DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO ESCAPE?
We have been to a few escape rooms in Leicester, but this by far has been the best experience. The room was great, lots to do and varied in difficultly. When we needed help the clues were helpful but didn't tell you the answer, making the experience great. We want to say a huge thank you to Ian, he explained everything in such a fun way, his clues and game help were fantastic. We couldn't of asked for a better host. We will be back to tackle more of the rooms available. Fantastic evening out.

We are Leicester's first dedicated bouldering wall. We have over 700sqm of climbing for all ages and abilities.
I climb here quite a lot - the staff are really supportive and helpful, giving you lots of tips when climbing. There is a great chilled vibe, with everyone supporting each other. It doesn't matter if you are a complete beginner or a pro, everyone is non-judgemental and just want you to do well. Try it and I'm sure you'll love it!

ONE TEAM. ONE ROOM. ONE HOUR. ONE GOAL Can you prove yourself worthy against the ticking clock? Locked in a room filled with puzzles, clues and riddles, you have 60 minutes to work as a team with just one goal... ESCAPE!
One word - Spectacular! My mates and I play a lot of online gaming which often involve puzzles and teamwork. We wanted to put this to the test in reality and wow was it worth it! We’ve done a few escape rooms before, but none, have lived up to the likes of Escapologic. We did two "rooms" but I wouldn’t even call them rooms, these are entire builds to fully immerse you in the experience. We did "The Gateway & "Operation Magnus". If you like horror films/thrillers/paranormal activity, you’re going to love this! We were sooooo looking forward to getting in there and closing the gateway...but as soon as you are in this abandoned, run down cottage, you soon want out. Within seconds we were jumping out of our skin, clinging to each other, as well as working together to push through. What’s even better, if you get stuck but don’t wanna ask for a clue. Your guide will chip in but in a way that fits within the experience. We got stuck in the gateway on one puzzle, needed some help, the radio came to life, static crackled it’s way through, the lights flickered and this voice guided us through...not without fear though. Operation Magnus was perfect for us as we work well together as a team and you need that in this WWII bunker. Not only does this feel like you’re actually in a bunker, but you feel under stress as there signs that the guards could come back at any moment. Having to work from one section to another, through the bunker, decipher codes, split into two groups, answer calls from your outside ‘resistance’ to guide you through. This really feels like a WWII secret agency mission to save the UK from a total wipeout. Overall; if you’re looking for a thrill and jumpscares, go close "The Gateway" (we failed). If you work best as a team and there’s at least 3/4 of you who enjoy taking on the enemy in the world war then accept "Operation Magnus" (we passed in 44mins). We are DEFINITELY going to head back and do more here, but we are going to adventure over to the Nottingham one instead to explore their different zones, time periods and thrills. The staff were fantastic, helpful, friendly, inviting, PASSIONATE (I block this because we’ve been to some before who are not passionate about the rooms and that can ruin you’re entire experience)...and most importantly, you can have a laugh with the staff here. It’s a fun place to go! 100%

I discovered the centre last October in a magazine as its only a couple of miles away I thought I would go and see for myself. Met by one of the owners, Richard who showed me around and explained how the centre works, just what I was looking for so joined ! 2 great rifle ranges one in woods 60 yds and one 100 yards. Great training / coaching lesson from Richard has led me to really enjoy my air rifle and looking for the bulls eye ! Have a covered pistol range, an air soft range and an archery range, a shop ( very reasonable prices ), café and wc" s also on site. Rich and Simon run the centre well with the emphasis on informality and fun, right up my street ! All the folks I have met here are friendly and happy to talk about your sport or any banter you could care to mention ! The TAAC ( Thurlaston Airgun and Archery Centre ) is on Face Book and have a website Warning !! Please see website on how to get here as the post code is misleading ! Taster sessions etc are available. If you are looking for an outdoor sport for you or other members of your family I cant recommend this place highly enough. So what are you waiting for ? Get on over and see for yourself !
