Cruden Farm is one of Victoria’s most exciting green spaces. It is a place of public recreation, located less than an hour from Melbourne. Visit Cruden Farm – a special place left by Dame Elisabeth Murdoch for the people to enjoy, that is now managed by a charitable trust. Open for garden wanders Monday - Friday and one Sunday of every month (excluding public holidays). Please refer to our website for our Sunday Opening details.
Enjoy a day at Cruden farm, the property Keith Murdock offered in 1928 as a wedding gift for his young wife Elisabeth. For over 40 years, she dedicated her life to develop the 20-acre property with her devoted gardener, Michael Morrison. It's a place of hidden paths, majestuous trees, enchanting spots for picnic, walking or meditation. The life story of Dame Edna is as fascinating as her property. It is now operated by a charitable trust. If you are a garden lover, you will be in heaven.

A fantastic opportunity to see a variety of local animals and plants in a natural habitat, easily accessible to the public. A variety of local terrestrial orchids can also be seen in flower. The only issue is that there are no facilities such as toilets or a cafe (or water) - so take that into account when visiting.
