On arrival at this museum I was greeted by a very friendly and enthusiastic team who were keen to tell me about the history of the Burnley Linen Mills The museum is contained within the visitor centre which sits alongside the Liverpool Leeds canal. Entrance is FREE but a donation of £2 pp is appreciated to enable the upkeep of the museum which is totally staffed by volunteers Also available is a small cafe were I enjoyed tea and home made fruit cake If you are visiting Burnley try and visit this museum as you will be surprised at the history this town holds

It's a really different building. Mind it's Blackpool so nothing amazes me just now here. The tourist office is vital to Blackpool. You can buy tram passes , theatre tickets and get all the leaflets you with ever need. Staff are friendly and welcoming.

Located in the old railway station this is a great TIC. Obviously a TIC but also a good gift shop and booking office for local events. Prior to Corona virus, in the same building is The Platform that usually has a varied programme of music. Mainly tribute but at the top end of quality. The TIC also serves as the ticket office, not lust for The Platform but also the theatres and attractions in Lancaster. With the 100 bus service every 15 minutes into Lancaster

Always like to visit the local RNLI when away. This one has a viewing gallery so that you can see the lifeboats. All in immaculate condition. Staff were friendly and informative. Well stocked shop with a wide variety of goods and gifts. Pleased to support.

What to say? Staff have always been helpful but this information centre is to close, no doubt to save money and pay for more office wallers who never actually deal with those mucky individuals the public! When they do they have to come down from Mount Olympus. The Tourist Info Centre in Market Square was closed many years ago due to Lancashire CC cutbacks. Basically both councils involved, the second being Ribble Valley BC seem very uninterested in encouraging tourism. Unlike, say those responsible for Skipton. Often used by people to obtain information and tickets for longer trips, say to Scotland or London.
