Unfortunately the original driver we had booked to take us to MIA from a different company had an issue with his clutch and he organised John from JLF to pick us up. I cannot rate this service better, John was very punctual, courteous and helpful. A very professional outfit from start to finish. Thank you for helping us out at such short notice.

A miniature railway running for over half a mile in a lovely recently restored park. Rides are only £1 per person. We also have three special events where some rides are free. Check our webpage or facebook site (Thompsonparkrailway). A new car park should open soon from Colne Road.
We had our little boys 6th birthday party on the railway yesterday. It was absolutely fantastic. The volunteers did a smashing job and made sure everyone had a blast. I can't recommend the experience high enough. All the guests had a great time, and it was something different in terms of a party. Give it a go, you won't regret it!

Blackpool Transport is the proud operator of Blackpool's £100 million tramway. The four year project, which concluded in April 2012, saw the replacement of 11 miles of track, creation of a new depot and introduction of a fleet of 16 state-of-the-art trams. It has never been easier to travel across Blackpool and the Fylde coast, with faster journey times, easy access and integrated Blackpool1 tickets that give you unlimited use of the trams and Blackpool Transport bus network (excluding Heritage Trams). Our frequent and reliable tram service provides an energy efficient mode of transport connecting residents and visitors to all major leisure, retail and businesses along the 11 mile stretch of coastline between Starr Gate and Fleetwood. The trams have level boarding and step-free interiors and designated disabled/pushchair areas making them accessible to all. Our frequent and reliable service connects passengers to all major leisure, retail and businesses along the 11 mile stretch of coastline. Heritage Tram Tours operate on Public and School Holidays, most weekends during Spring/Summer/Autumn and on special events. Heritage Day tickets are available that allow unlimited use of both heritage and modern trams plus Blackpool Transport buses. Heritage Trams stop only at the specially marked Heritage Tram Stops at Pleasure Beach, North Pier/Tower, Cabin, Bispham*, Cleveleys* and Fleetwood Ferry* (*special event days only). Blackpool has the oldest electric street tramway in the world with records dating back to 1884 when track plans were produced for an electric tramway that would connect North and South Shore. Blackpool Corporation paid for and maintained the infrastructure, whilst the Blackpool Electric Tramway Company, formed in January 1885 provided the electrical equipment, depot and tramcars. The tramway opened on the 29th September 1885. After the second world war, there was gradual consolidation and by 1962, the trams were confined to the 11 mile route from Starr Gate to Fleetwood which still operates today. The bus services expanded along with the town throughout the sixties, seventies and eighties. Since bus deregulation in 1986, the trams and buses have been operated by Blackpool Transport Services Ltd, a Blackpool Council Company. While the trams themselves are owned and run by Blackpool Transport, the tramway infrastructure is currently owned by Blackpool Council and leased to the Company, which pays an annual track rental fee for the privilege.
We went to the Blackpool Transport office on Market street and purchased 2 adult weekly tickets the counter staff so helpful, this is a great way to travel on wonderful trams and buses the team staff so helpful.

We have a committed team of enthusiastic volunteers ready to help you during your visit whether its sharing our extensive and varied knowledge of our engines or the explaining the inner workings of our steam and diesel engines we are all here and happy to help.
We were a group of five adults two babies and a three year old. We all really enjoyed the experience. 55 minute steam train ride, long enough for kiddies as no loos on board. The wonderful staff, mainly give up their own time to provide this unique service. How wonderful to speak to so many enthusiastic people! Santa was fab and with a real beard and real wife???? the train museum was really cool too. We're going to make this an annual trip as long as it keeps going as it's run on a shoestring.

The ferry is both a pleasant little excursion from Fleetwood and a useful link for those wanting to get the bus to or from Lancaster or to cycle Northwards along the coast. The ferry carries passengers, cycles, prams and normally wheelchairs. However at present due to covid-19, wheelchair users are being advised not to use the ferry unless accompanied by capable companions as the crew cannot assist with boarding and disembarking. Check operating times, especially if planning to travel between Fleetwood and Lancaster by the ferry and bus, as it cannot operate at certain times due to low tides. Those who remember the old open boat from years ago please note that the new ferry is fully enclosed: it is not possible to stand or sit outside any more.
