Tiwanaku is a pre-Incan city in Bolivia. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and has been since year 2000. Tiwanaku is viewed by most archaeologists as being one of the key sites leading up to the Incan Empire, and remains a beautiful site for modern visitors. The artistic style of Tiwanaku is also quite unique, with fascinating figurative pieces that feature exaggerated heads. At the Beginning of the tour visit the Ceramic and Lithic museums, travelers can visit the ancient and enigmatic archaeological ruins such as: Gate of the Sun, Kalasasaya Temple, The Semi-Subterranean Temple with nailed heads, Monoliths, the megalithic and mysterious ancient ruins of Puma Punku and other religious enclosures. 08:00 a.m. Hotel pick up. 09:30 a.m. Tour Start in Tiwanaku, ruins and museums. 02:00 p.m. Lunch. 03:00 p.m. Return to the city. 04:30 p.m. Drop-off at hotel.

We booked a tour to the Valley of The Moon and Mt Chacaltaya out of LaPaz. We were there in November, 2019 during the post election protests. We met our guide, Patti, at a rendezvous point near the Prada. The pick up was about 30 minutes late. The part of the tour to the Valley of the Moon was canceled due to protestors blocking the road. We received no refund. We did drive to Mt Chacaltaya and scrambled to the top. Although the walk is not steep and the path pretty good, be prepared for a tough climb given the altitude of about 17,000 feet. You will need to take numerous stops and the climb will take longer than you expect. The views of the surrounding Andes Mountains was spectacular. Well worth the effort. Overall the trip was fine, but make sure you know what you are getting yourself into. Also, we were somewhat disappointed by the reluctance of our guide to stop and allow us to take pictures at various places on the trip. If you choose to take this trip, be sure to inquire carefully about the logistics.

- We will begin our tour in the 4x4 vehicle destined for the occasion. - The first stop will be the train cemetery, a must for those who visit Uyuni and which is a record of how prosperous the area was. Later, we will move to Colchani, where we can see and buy handicrafts, as well as see how the process of making products from salt is. - Once inside the salt flat, we will visit the monument to the Dakar, the Salt Museum and the Incahuasi island that is right in the middle of the salar. There, we can take a short walk to the highest part and take advantage of the view of the salt flat in 360 °. Also, we can see from very close the large cactus that adorn this calcareous rock formation. - After this experience, we will have our lunch and we will settle to see the sunset in the salar, a true spectacle of nature. Later, we will return in our vehicle to finish the tour.

The best tour, We felt very safe and was easy to organise! We traveled with a 3 year old and this was by far the best tour agency and they are not expensive too! She also organises private stargazing tours in the salts. Our guide spoke english and he was a wonderful photographer. He took a million pictures and helped us with those perspective photos and videos too! They don't pack you in a big group. We were a group of four and it was perfect! I like that this tour agency is not money minded. In fact we had to chase her to pay the money. She was very kind and I would absolutely recommend her!

We were linked with Andrea Tours through a tour group in Ecuador and we couldn't have been more pleased. Our guide Laura was warm and friendly, and we learned so much. With the above-and-beyond efforts of her and our driver, we made it to Cactus Island while the surrounding flats were still reflective. We got some amazing, one-of-a-kind views and photos, not to mention we had the whole island to ourselves! We also got a sunset tour and stargazing tour as a result of the longer journey. The stargazing wasn't even included in our itinerary. The flats were an out-of-this-planet experience, and we couldn't have enveloped ourselves more within them. We're truly grateful for a peaceful, reflective, breathtaking, and unforgettable experience.

Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni is considered one of the most extreme and remarkable vistas in all of South America, if not Earth. Stretching more than 4,050 square miles of the Altiplano, it is the world’s largest salt flat, left behind by prehistoric lakes evaporated long ago.

It's quite difficult at the moment to find a good and reliable tour company that doesn't charge you a very high price. Due to the lack of tourists at the moment, the only longer tours you can get in Uyuni are private and most agencies we contacted via online and WhatsApp didn't respond or didn't want to negotiate. Skyline Traveller were quick to respond, they were accommodating, the price was very reasonable and the service was excellent. We were supposed to go as part of a group, however it didn't happen and we ended up going just the two of us which was perfect. We did the 3 day tour to Salar and parque Nacional Eduardo Avaroa. We visited the train cemetery, Salar, a few small lagunas on the way, Laguna Colorada, geisers, hot springs, laguna negra (instead of laguna verde as we heard the water is not green anymore but white), we saw hundreds of flamingos in most of he lagunas. Stunning scenery. It was a beautifil trip and worth every penny. Rigo, our guide was young but very professional. He is fun, knowledgeable, responsible and just an excellent guide. We are mostly vegetarians and he arranged and made sure we got what we wanted or needed. He was very accommodating. The food was great, the accommodations on the way are basic but comfortable and perfect for the night. After all, you go for the adventure and experience. If you are looking for a reliable and honest tour agency in Uyuni, get in touch with Skyline Traveller. I definitely recomend going with Rigo as your guide.

You´ll be taken through the streets of La Paz through my shared google maps screen. "Walk" along the same streets and landmarks as you would on an actual walking tour and with complimentary powerpoint slides the tour will feel just as, if not, more interactive than an in-person experience. From the comfort of your home and without having to worry about altitude sickness you´ll get all the fascinating information on the culture, history and traditions while simultaneously viewing close-ups of the offerings at the witches market, photographs of the inside of San pedro Prison or seeing what our president in 1864 looked like before he went crazy. Don´t let the lockdown impede you from experiencing the city in the clouds.

We decided to go with Salty Dessert after doing our due diligence researching travel companies. They were well reviewed and responsive to our inquiries. We chose the 3 day shared tour in Spanish of the salt flats, lagoons, and dessert. The salt flats are spectacular but the dessert was a very close second for me and worth exploring. Our guide Freddie was awesome - we loved his sense of humor and his photography skills. He was very accommodating. We were usually the last tour group to leave each location because we took so many photos and Freddie didn’t rush us. The food was delicious. The accommodations are quite basic so just go prepared and don’t expect much. I think the accommodations are the same no matter which travel company you go with, unless you upgrade to the more expensive salt hotels. Including some photos of our group!

Me and a friend climbed Huyana Potosi in January 2020 with Pedro from Bolivia Mountaineering. I can only recommend to do the tour with him. A few days before the trip I met up at his office and he took his time (at least 1,5 hours) to discuss everything about the trek. After that I felt well informed what to expect. He was very honest about the level of difficulty and the dangers of climbing huyana potosi, but at the same time he gave me the feeling that I can do it (I wasn't that sure about it before that). He was also flexible regarding the starting date. We waited for a few days to start the trek in order to start on a day the weather forecast was more promising (it was during rainy season, so most days weren't very suitable to climb the mountain). We decided to climb it in only 2 days (1 night). However, we've already spent 1-2 weeks in altitudes above 3500 metres. If you're not acclimatized yet,it probably makes more sense to do it in 3 days (and spend some days in and around la paz, there are lots of other day hikes you can do such as Pico Austria to get prepared). The equipment he provided us was in a good condition. The first day we climbed to the refuge (at around 5200 metres of altitude). After arriving at the shelter we went to the glacier and he explained us how to walk in the ice/snow with the crampons, how to make use of the ice axe, etc. I felt well prepared to get to the summit after this. After that we had dinner and went to bed, as you have to wake up at midnight to start climbing the summit (the food/snacks we got provided with were good). We started walking around 1-1.30 am. Pedro (and the other guide who came with us) were patient when we needed breaks, but at the same time he tried to push us a little and therefore gave us the confidence to make it to the top. I'm not going to lie, the climb is not easy at all, not very technical, only one part you have to climb in the ice, but the altitude makes it very hard. But it's very rewarding, definitely my best experience in South America so far. If you're in La Paz and want to climb huyana potosi, I can only recommend to do it with Pedro and Bolivia Mounteneering! Thanks!
