We hike and bike often in this forest. The landscape is partially quite hilly and overgrown with coniferous and deciduous forests. There is a wide variety of game in the forest such as red deer, roe deer, fallow deer, wild pigs, hazel worms, birds of prey, etc. a paradise for hikers, bikers and nature lovers. The forest measures about 55 square kilometres, at the south side bordered by the river Niers and at the North side by the interesting town Kleve.

It is a lovely small zoo, with mostly farm animals. You can buy special food and feed some of the animals which is in my opinion the best part. It is a cozy place with nice walks and it is very cheap.
