Kilimanjaro Animal Center for Rescue, Education & Wildlife is not "open" at certain hours as we are not a public place or a Zoo. A visit of is only possible for our donors and can be done by appointment only. . Our projects aim to support conservation and nature education for local schools and are funded by donations.
We visited Makoa Farm for a tour with Noah. He was very knowledgeable and it was clear just how much he cared for all of the animals! He was welcomining and friendly, greeting us with drinks on arrival. We were taken around the Farm and Noah explained to us why each of the animals had been been rescued and whether they were suitable for release. In addition to this, he provided us with interesting facts about all of the animals and the Farm itself. Some of the animal we saw during our visit were baby elephants, baby zebra, cheetah, monkeys, bush pig, owls and mongoose. The tour was very easy to organise, we contacted the Farm via Facebook and they responded very quickly. They also helpfully recommended a cheap taxi driver to take us to the Farm from Moshi. When booking, we were advised that they ask for a small minimum donation in return for organising a tour - this was a modest price to pay for our experience and we are pleased that our donation can assist with the running of the Farm. We would absolutely recommend a visit here - such an amazing charity with incredible animals.

This place is so beautiful and scenic, it's on the way towards Moshi from Arusha in the middle, from highway you take a rough road heading to this lil paradise. The water is clear, warm and surrounded by trees.. Best place to get a dip into water and relax yourself.. Bonus: you get a free pedicure as the tiny lil fish come towards you to clean the dead skin away from you.. (you don't need to spend alot of money ???? on fish spa) - it's safe.. Worry out!! Perfect way to go on a day trip, advise you to head on morning to afternoon to enjoy the place without the place getting too crowded.

The Kilimanjaro Friendship Trail goes around Mt. Kilimanjaro at an altitude of 1200m - 1700m above sea level. The path leads through the mountain's garden belt. The route is 100 km long, divided into stages of 10 to 25 km per day with accommodation in mostly simple church guest houses. The trail runs past spiritual places & health centres and tries to combine pilgrimage with health aspects.
We had a great time with Sophie. The trail is a nice, sometimes challenging trek through different landscapes (fields, valleys, river crossings, rain forest). Accommodations were basic, but all very welcoming and with delicious food. Sophie was a great guide, telling us lots about the Tanzanian culture and made sure everybody was comfortable with the hike. I’d definitely recommend the trail to anyone who likes hiking.
