Kilimanjaro Region is one of Tanzania's 31 administrative regions. The regional capital is the municipality of Moshi. According to the 2012 national census, the region had a population of 1,640,087, which was lower than the pre-census projection of 1,702,207. For 2002-2012, the region's 1.8 percent average annual population growth rate was the 24th highest in the country. It was also the eighth most densely populated region with 124 people per square kilometer.

Masama Cultural Tourism Programme is a society that works on adding value to small coffee farmers. We take our extreme visitors to learn more about Arabica coffee life circle at an affordable price. By taking this tour at this village you will add value to Arabica coffee which has low income to most of the farmers. In most cases the tour takes up to six hours. Upon visiting at the village you will be welcomed with Lemon grass tea and follows with the tour. You will be back for hot traditional lunch. You will thereafter start processing the coffee beans and roast them on charcoal. You will thereafter boil it and test the authentic Arabica coffee of volcanic soil on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. The panorama will take us to Kilimanjaro Native Cooperative Union section. At this point you will see and learn how to collect Arabica coffee and process them ready to be graded and later on auction in Moshi. After an auction has taken place it will be transported to Europe and America.
