Having survived the Mongol Empire, WWII, Chernobyl, and Soviet rule, Kiev is the proud capital of the Ukraine. Filled with theaters, museums, religious sites, modern buildings and ancient ruins, the city of Kiev is the center of Ukrainian culture. The Monastery of the Caves, founded in 1015, and Saint Sophia Cathedral, founded in 1037, are both World Heritage Sites. The Museum of the Great Patriotic War, topped by the massive Motherland Statue, provides gorgeous views of the city below.

"Victoria Museum" is a museum of fashion and style. It dwells with city fashion of 17-19th century from all over the world. Every visitor will be able to immerse in presented era and better understand how people dressed, hence - how they lived.

Kyiv’s Toilet History Museum is a place where you can hear the facts and legends about toilet you haven't heard on history classes. You’ll discover how toilets looked 5000 years ago, why medieval toilets were called “wardrobes,” and how a toilet invented by Leonardo da Vinci functioned. The toilet museum has many types of historical toilets, from Egyptian limestone toilet seats to the mechanic water closets from Modern Times. The museum's aim is to explore the culture and history through the lens of an everyday experience shared by people around the world. The museum contains the largest collection of toilet souvenirs in the world (recognized by Guinness Book of Records). It includes more than 600 miniature toilets: you’ll see traditional statuettes of the porcelain throne as well as various ashtrays, key keepers, lighters and tobacco pipes in the form of a water-closet. You can also see different toiletries, for example, tools people once used instead of soap.
I had very interesting visit in museum of History of Toilet in Kiev. When I came I decided to choose English (not Ukrainian language, my native language) like a joke. I speak English good. To my surprise a guide (Vladislav) immediately turn to English from Ukrainian. It was excellent excursion that I ever had. Thanks a lot, I understood everything and had a good time in the museum. Besides, guide also knows Russian, Polish, French. Not so many museums have such language choose. I think its perfect for the museum to have such service.

A great experience and an eye opening insight into the tragic events that occurred. A must do especially if you are going on a tour of Chernobyl as it gives you some background knowledge to help you understand more! Would recommend the Audio Guide (60hrv) as it explains everything you look at, only 1 is needed as you can turn it up loud enough for 2 of you to hear.

Good for rainy day. Good for hot summer day as well. Ukraine now is not a happy country - you'll feel this in this museum. Return to the happy soviet past is impossible. War is standing on the porch. Unfortunately. Besides the war, there are lots of ancient artifacts, that explain the right history of Ukraine. Must see.
