Kerala (/ˈkɛrələ/), called Keralam in Malayalam (where Kerala is the adjectival form), is a state in South India on the Malabar Coast. It was formed on 1 November 1956 following the States Reorganisation Act by combining Malayalam-speaking regions. Spread over 38,863 km (15,005 sq mi), it is bordered by Karnataka to the north and northeast, Tamil Nadu to the east and south, and the Lakshadweep Sea to the west. With 33,387,677 inhabitants as per the 2011 Census, Kerala is the thirteenth-largest Indian state by population. It is divided into 14 districts with the capital being Thiruvananthapuram. Thiruvananthapuram is the largest city in the state. Malayalam is the most widely spoken language and is also the official language of the state.

Now gaining attention of many more tourists day by day. Its a rural area 60 kms from Ekm, where the river flowing through the forest. 10 mins walk from the paprking space through the illis(bamboo) and reach the river. Be extreme careful as strong undercurrents and potholes underneath wont grab the attention at first site. Listen to the nature over the surroundings of an unspoiled nature. Recommended for Nature enthusiasts.

Ranipuram hills is an attractive destination located in the Kasaragod district. The region, once known as Madathumala, shares it borders with Karnataka. Dubbed as the "Ooty of Kerala", Ranipuram hills is renowned for its cool climate, deep woods and enthralling trekking trails. The luxuriant grasslands, the dense evergreen forests, and the cold breeze make Ranipuram hills an instant favourite among the tourists.
