It's a nice peaceful beach with golden sands. Since it's not yet on popular tourist circuit, its unspoilt and retains it's natural beauty. Few shacks serving juice and sea food have come up on the beach shores. One can also rent the beacj umbrella and a makeshift bed from villagers to enjoy the sunny sands and waves. Surfing equipment is available to rent as well. Nice little cafes have also come up on the way and in nearby areas.

Kuzhupilly beach, located in Vypeen or Vypin, this white, sandy beach is ideal for swimming. The backwaters nearby are an added charm, as are the paddy fields and coconut groves on the way to the beach, where kite festivals are occasionally held.
In my experience I felt it is nice and calm place near to rush city like kochi to be refreshed, relaxed and enjoyable evening will be the final outcome.

Cherai beach is the ideal place to watch the sunset while you are in Cochin. About 40 mins drive from the city area this beach is very long with many beach restaurants and shops nearby. If you walk along you will find the Chinese fishing nets and you might be able to witness the catch of the day by the local fishermen. Most of the local people and tourists visit this beach during the evenings and the surroundings are real nice. You are able to watch the paddy fields and the backwaters on the way so this could be a one of the best half day trips for you while you are in Cochin.
