We enjoyed both tours we completed at Claiborne Farms. We did the walking tour that included seeing the breeding program facilities and seeing several stallions. Our guide shared lots of information about the stallion business as well as about individual stallions. We loved being able to see them up close when he brought Kentucky Derby winner Orb out of his stall and War Front for us to have pictures taken with them or feed them a peppermint. Well worth our time and money! In the afternoon we did the Farm shuttle tour of the back part of the farm. We got to see daily operations and the beautiful grounds as well as mares, weaklings, and the “grandmas” who live their life out on this beautiful farm. Our guide was knowledgeable and answered any and all questions. Great Day!

This tour was the best! The guide Olivia took us through the stallion barn where we saw some of the most beautiful stallions that were all top notch. Her passion for the horses was obvious as she told us about each one and about their distinct personalities. Her explanation of the breeding operation and the daily life of these stallions was so informative. The shuttle tour of the beautiful farm was also very enjoyable with Olivia and Ann providing more information about how the foals and mares are cared for. Seeing this behind the scenes operation will make watching racing much more enjoyable for me. I would recommend this tour to everyone who has any interest in thoroughbred horses.

Take a tour of Jonabell Farm in Lexington, Kentucky, one of the leading horse farms in the USA. It is the American headquarters of Sheikh Mohammed’s global Godolphin operation and home to the Darley thoroughbred stallions in the United States. The tour will begin at the farm office where you will learn about the history of Jonabell Farm as well as the scope of Godolphin, the international thoroughbred breeding and racing operation founded by Sheikh Mohammed, ruler of Dubai. We’ll then head outside to see the stallions, including Kentucky Derby winners Nyquist and Street Sense, multiple G1 winner Frosted, and leading sires Medaglia d’Oro and Bernardini. Next we will walk through the breeding shed and visit the grave of 1978 Triple Crown winner Affirmed.
A fantastic tour, with enthusiastic, friendly guides. It was amazing to wander in the barn seeing and getting close to the stallions. Their individual personalities really come across, some sulking, others keen to "meet" new people. The tour of the extensive grounds was equally interesting, a huge estate with numerous barns for their breeding operation. If you're interested in horses and racing this tour is a must.
