There are great views to be had from the Observation deck of the Mori Building. We were in Japan at a relatively quiet period and had no issue getting a ticket or going up. It seems to be significantly less busy and less expensive than the Skytree and is a much nicer experience. Pre-booking is available and probably worthwhile in busier times. The combined tickets with the Mori Art Museum are almost the same price and we wanted to see the museum too, so a comparative bargain! There’s a place to sit and make a coffee from beans - an over-engineered coffee but a bit of fun! Thoroughly recommend.

The tallest building in Shinjuku, TMG No. 1 offers sweeping views of Tokyo -- all the way to Mt. Fuji on a clear day -- from the 45th floor observatory.
Fantastic views of the Tokyo City and suburbs. Free entry. There are two observation towers - one in each of the building's two towers. It is located above Tochomae Station (on the Toei Oedo line), or is a comfortable 10 minute walk from Shinjuku Station (all other train lines including JR, Keio, Seibu, Odakyu and other subway lines).

You need to take the Akechidaira Ropeway to go up to the Observation area which gives a very panoramic view of the Nikko region. There are hiking trails that also go up to the Observation area, but that's a pretty tough climb. Looking east, you can look back towards the World Heritage area and looking west, you can see Lake Chuzenji and the Kegon Falls. You also see the mountains that surround the valley and have a real communion with nature and can breath in some really fresh air and enjoy the feeling of being surrounded by harmony and sense of being small in this big universe. Worth visiting when in Nikko.

We arrived a couple of weeks after Typhoon Faxai hit the Bōsō Peninsula. Some of trails were closed due to debris. Those areas that remained accessible provided inspirational views and serenity for self-reflection and thought. You take a ropeway tram to the top of the mountain. You are rewarded with a view of the Peninsula as you gain altitude. When you arrive, you can take in the view from the observation deck. Take an opportunity to take a breath taking view from the Jigoku Nozoki. Enjoy viewing the numerous Buddha sculptures along the trails.

I went before the sunsets, so I managed to get 2 different views of daylight and night view, it is really a must go, the views is fantastic and worthwhile and i can say it is worth a million dollar view night scenery if you really cannot afford too much time. the building has a lot of food and shopping below which you can spend few hours . I have hours of wow wow , impressed by the various views 360degrees and big glass panel and transparent glass flooring, etc, etc
