See a buffalo up close, live like a cowboy for a day on a working cattle ranch or visit a stagecoach stop on the Sante Fe Trail are just a few of the many vacation experiences possible in this state in America’s heartland. You’ll love the wide-open spaces and the opportunities to engage in a variety of one-of-a-kind experiences in this marvelous state, which has the largest segment of true tallgrass prairie remaining in the U.S. Regardless of where you visit: a major metropolitan area like Kansas City, a college town like Manhattan or Lawrence or engaging places like Wichita, Dodge City and Salina, there are a wide array of attractions and sights nearby. If you want to familiarize yourself with cowboy culture, visit the Boot Hills Museum in Dodge City, dine on all-you-can-eat barbeque and hear songs of the American Cowboy at Diamond W Chuckwagon Supper in Wichita or explore the Dickinson County Heritage Center in Abilene, which has dance halls, gaming rooms and 32 saloons.
For outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, bird watching and other activities, three of the state’s most popular parks are: Cheney State Park near Wichita; Scott State Park near Scott City and Tuttle Creek State Park near Manhattan.

Boot Hill Casino & Resort features over 700 electronic gaming machines, 18 table games, 5 live poker tables, a 150-seat casual dining restaurant known as Firesides at Boot Hill, Wild Bill’s Beer Bar for a variety of specialty, imported and domestic beers, Cowboy Cafe for a light fare on-the-go, and also offers retail logo’ed items.
Fun place to visit. One drawback is the smoke from other patrons, stinks but isn’t a dealbreaker for us and we are former smokers. The restaurant serves good food, the service was acceptable.

This is our favorite hotel/casino. The food is always positively delicious. The rooms are clean, comfy, and cozy. Can’t say enough good about staff. Friendly and always helpful. That is a huge plus. We gamble once or twice a year and we come to Prairie Band over all other casinos. Shout out to our host (Chris) with the great personality. He’s fabulous!!! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

NOW OPEN! Raise your expectations and prepare to be entertained with the newest and hottest slot machines, 16 gaming tables, a 123-room Hampton Inn and Suites and an entertainment complex.
My family took a trip here and stayed at the attached hotel. It was very convenient having a hotel attached. My husband and I were able to go down to the casino and enjoy ourselves. It's a good size. We don't lose each other, and they have a good selection of slots. Plus table games, restaurant, bar,and free sodas. We thought that- being from California it would be disappointing, but we really enjoyed our time at Kansas crossing.

Rooms are neat, clean, and large. Staff is wonderful. Mary is absolutely amazing, and is such a darling! I love when she works the breakfast. I’ve always liked Hampton Inn suites, this is one of my mothers favorite hotels anytime she goes to the Kansas star and spend the weekend she invites me to go along. Mary is absolutely the most caring, loving, young lady, she reminds me when I was younger and used to go to my grandparents house, I always knew I was loved. She talks to you just like she is family, never complaining, always insuring your food is hot, even going to the extent to show you how to use the waffle maker correctly! LOL yes, my mother and I did not know how to use the waffle maker and she was so kind and willing effortlessly in her spirit to help us. Every time we go to the hotel I look for Miss Mary! And you should to your experience will be worth it to meet her. Thank you so much for all you do. Miss Mary love the Johnson family.
