The home of swing and bebop for some, "The City of Fountains" to others, Kansas City is different things to different people. Music enthusiasts are drawn to the jazz clubs and old haunts of famous musicians such as Charlie Parker and Count Basie. With more fountains than Rome, there is ample opportunity for scenic strolling from fountain to fountain. Stop along the way to discover interesting neighborhoods and browse through eclectic shops. Families are particularly attracted to the city because of its child-friendly events and venues. Science City features hands-on exhibits including a mock television studio where kids can deliver a weather forecast, while the Zoo houses impressive African and Australian exhibits plus an IMAX Theater. The city's museums cover everything from the history of jazz music to a celebration of African American baseball players. Once a trading post for pioneers heading to the Western United States, today Kansas City is a burgeoning metropolis with activities and attractions for visitors of all ages and interests.

The midwest's premier amusement park, featuring 235 acres of rides and slides. Two great parks for one great price in 2013. Experience both parks for one low price! Slide all day and ride all night! Experience seven roller coasters, huge water slides, thrill rides, Planet Snoopy for the whole family, and a brand new Oceans of Fun!
we did not have to stand in line very long for the rides. was very hot, and each vendor gave out free water to everyone. Quite a few roller coasters, and also water rides for family fun. There is also games to play, shops to buy souvenirs, and plenty of places to eat.

We travelled to Kansas City specifically to visit Legoland Discovery Center over Spring Break. Our kids, ages 9 and 5, had a blast. We spent about 4 hours there, and it was worth the admission fee. Our whole family enjoyed the rides. The line to wait for the second ride (a "flying couch" where you pedal to make your couch raise higher) was pretty long, but that was to be expected on a busy weekend during Spring Break. My husband and I were impressed with the Lego displays. The kids enjoyed building their own Lego Panels for the Art Gallery wall. They also really enjoyed the play structure, and spent a lot of time getting their energy out there. Both of our children have Autism, but there were enough calm areas to retreat to when they started to feel overwhelmed or overstimulated. The Lego shop was a great end to our day at Legoland. The store had an amazing selection of items we had never seen, and we were able to purchase large Lego sets to save for home, and smaller sets to keep the kids occupied in our hotel room during down time. It was our favorite place to visit on our family vacation, and we look forward to going back soon.
