Palamuse parish school building and the living quarters for the parish clerk Georg Nielander were completed in 1837 and the school was open there until 1975. A museum has been open there from 5 January 1987 and it displays the life of a parish school at the end of the 19th century through Oskar Luts’s Spring.

The exhibits give an overview of the culture of Old Believers both in the past and in the present. The collection includes samovars, irons, clothes worn by the Old Believers, commodities, furniture and fishing equipment. Also on display – J. Kolpakov’s paintings of the churches of Mustvee, P. Mihhailov’s and his son’s wood engravings and L. Korobova’s paintings and drawings of Lake Peipus.

The museum is housed in Betti Alver’s home next to the Jogeva railway station.The museum gives an overview of Betti Alver’s life and works, also perpetuates the memory of Alo Mattiisen and acquaints visitors with the historic and cultural heritage of Jogeva.
Laiuse Handwork Chamber Golden Straw or Laiuse Straw Museum offers its guests the possibility to visit an exhibition which shows straw, reed and birch bark objects made using different techniques (weaving, plaiting and intarsia), ornamental straw objects and decorations. Visitors have the possibility to buy or order souvenirs.
The museum introduces the life led by farmers in the 18th century and the everyday lives and work of our forefathers. There are five oak sculptures created by St Petersburg artist Grigori Azarenkov by the museum. The museum is surrounded by beautiful landscapes, which make it a popular venue for folk parties and theatre performances.
The museum is located in an old barn and introduces the tools, everyday items and furniture used in the 19th and at the beginning of the 20th centuries, the clothes made on the farm and also books and photo albums from the old times.
