The tallest mountain is in the center of the island, which at an elevation of 4,389 feet with an area of 3,515 square miles, offers spectacular vistas of the entire island and Caribbean Sea.
The Bosque Estatal de Toro Negro is a vast forest (located in Ponce, Jayuya, Orocovis, Juana Diaz and Ciales) with around 18 km of trails, a few beautiful ponds, rivers, and lakes. There's also an observation tower atop the Cerro Dona Juan, which is Orocovis' highest point, and which you can climb to experience one of the best views Puerto Rico has to offer. Moreover, the camping site in Barrio Ala de la Piedra is a great place to stay in Orocovis during the weekend.
