Coming from Australia snow is a real treat. When we went to the Folk Village on New Years Day it was thick with powdery snow. We could still walk around as the sky was clear and blue. The water wheel was iced over and the thatched roofs had a foot of white powder. I was glad it was open however some of the areas such as the 500 year old hilltop castle were closed due to safety reasons.

Huge museum with living reptiles and dinosaur skeletons. It is very educational, dinosaur exhibit has a few min show and the dinosaurs were moving. It does that almost 3 hours covering all 3 floors.

In the underground exhibition hall of the Sanbe Buried Forest Museum, you will find some huge trunks of trees standing straight as they were in the ancient days, and others being laid down there after having fallen down and been driven in an avalanche of sands and rocks caused by the eruption.
