Once known as "The Furniture Capital of the World," industry has long since deserted Jamestown, a sleepy town on the tip of beautiful Chautauqua Lake, a popular fishing and sailing destination. The town is the home of the Lucy-Desi Museum and Desilu Playhouse, both built in honor of the town's most famous daughter. Jamestown also contains The Audubon Center, which features a 600 acre nature sanctuary with five miles of observation and hiking paths and is the home of Liberty, a local bald eagle.

The Robert H. Jackson Center has been established to advance the legacy of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Jackson through exhibitry, and by pursuing the relevance of his ideas for current and future generations. Robert H. Jackson first gained recognition as a country lawyer from Chautauqua County. He went on to serve as Solicitor General of the United States, U.S. Attorney General, U.S. Supreme Court Justice, and Chief American Prosecutor at the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg at the end of World War II. Guided tours are available from 10 am to 2 pm, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays by appointment only. Calling to schedule a tour is highly encouraged. Admission is free, but donations are gladly accepted.
Wasn't sure what to expect. Very surprised and pleased by this place. Our tour guide knew her stuff. She was more than willing to answer any questions. The display of some of the "defendants" at Nuremberg was chilling. Robert H. Jackson is someone who really stood for equal justice for all no matter your social standing, how much money you have. etc.

Located across from the National Comedy Center, the Northwest Arena is the heart of Jamestown’s indoor activity throughout the year. A multiuse facility with dual ice pads, arena seating, walking track, snack bar and lounge, the Northwest Arena attracts residents and visitors alike for public skating, ice bumper cars, drop-in hockey, walking and running on the “cool” track, parties and special events as well as cheering on Jamestown’s home NAHL hockey team, the Rebel’s. More than just a center for sports and physical activity, people of all ages come to the arena to be with friends and teammates, bond with family members and catch up on the latest community news. The Northwest Arena: A cool place to be.

While visiting Jamestown, New York and stopping by the National Comedy Center and the Lucy Desi Museum and catching Sebastian Maniscalco at the North West Arena, I would be remiss if I were not to visit the grave site of Lucille Ball. So on our last day in Jamestown we drove over to the Lake View Cemetery and followed the red hearts painted on to the cemetery road which directed us to a short rise along a stone walkway to a beautiful dark tombstone adorned with flowers which marks the eternal resting site of America's first lady of comedy Lucille Ball. I am pleased that we paid our respects.

This amazing candy shop (my husband & I nicknamed “The Land of Chocolates” because of the amazing aroma of chocolate that hits your nose as soon as you open the door) has something for EVERYONE!!! They have traditional chocolate favorites, some yummy innovative creations, and AMAZING customer service! A place you must stop and visit if you are ever in the area!!!!

The area around the light house has been reinvented. I am from the area and have been away for years. I remember the skating rink as the only attraction now it has been reborn
