Tezen Museum is a foundation that has been introducing art and crafts in the Izumo region since 1993. Its object is to present the culture and character of the region through its research and display of the artworks born within the environment. Exhibitions of Japanese art and crafts, such as Kake-jiku (hanging scrolls), Byo-bu (folding screens), To-ken (swords) and materials related to Japanese tea culture from Edo-period and later are held in the Exhibition Hall 1, which is a reconstructed building of a rice storage owned by the family. The Exhibition Hall 2 was a liquor storage built in 1860 and also used as an elementary school till 1903. We regularly shows a few hundreds pieces of potteries. lacquerware and livingware of the region as Rakuzan Yaki, Fujina Yaki, Kojima Shikkosai and Nurude-an in the hall.
