Love Duets’ Concert: you do not have to be a lover of Italian Opera to enjoy this wonderful evening. It’s set in a small church from 1800’s. You have a piano, soprano & tenor performing Opera’s love song and Italian love songs. The setting and performance is overwhelmingly powerful. You’ll be moved to tears by the emotions. Not to be missed.
My wife and I attended the "Love Duets" in early November, 2019. it was outstanding! Franz--the piano player and organizer--gave a short explanation in english before each song. Franz is a crackerjack pianist who accompanied each song. The performers were top notch and we particularly appreciated the acting. This isn't a dry recital, the performers get it on with plenty of acting which adds a great deal of character to the performance. It is obvious that they enjoy the performance as much as the audience does. We've seen some of these types of offerings where the performers simply get up and do the job and there is no interaction with the audience--it is just a recital. ...not the case with Opera at St. Mark's--there is plenty to like with the performance. By the way, a block from St Marks is the excellent Trattoria 4 Leoni Restaurant--a fine choice for dinner before the show and you'll get set up with the waiter, Alphonso, who speaks great english, makes very good recommendations and is thoroughly entertaining. Have a great evening and leave St. Mark's humming some tunes!

Walked into this music hall and was enthralled by the setting. Tickets were easy to get directly from the front desk and had seats (free seating) right up in front. Having the musicians playing up close and to see their passion as they played were an awesome experience.

BIG is Barcelona's premiere improvised theatre & comedy company, bringing improv to Barcelona since 2011 with monthly main stage shows, weekly drop in workshops, classes, and integrated professional training. Please check website and Facebook for upcoming shows. BIG also hosts the Barcelona Improv Group International Festival every November.
It was truly amazing to watch BIG in action. I couldn’t believe at times how they could weave together stories and situations all based on spur-of-the moment audience suggestions. It seemed like a scripted comedy that generated huge laughs. Well done! I just loved the Tinta Roja venue as well (which I assume was once an old movie theatre). An intimate bar full of character with cosy candlelit corners...perfect for a drink after the show!

Recommended by the New York Times in the article "36 Hours in Venice," Venice Music Project presents its fourth season of concerts, taking you back in time to the era when Venice was a musical center of international prestige. Together, we will discover the great tradition of music in the Veneto, performed with original instruments and performance practices, in the prestigious Palazzo Rota Ivancich, where Hemingway and Liszt were among the many important guests. Our resident orchestra, Venetia Antiqua, will also host prestigious ensembles from around the world. An important part of our mandate is the restoration of the places where we perform and the works of art that they contain, to help the city to remain alive for our own and future generations. This will be possible through our US501c3 non-profit organization, Friends of Venice Music Project, our Italian Associazione Culturale for European donations, and additionally a portion of box office receipts.
Just saw their first performance back - it was absolutely amazing!! The singers have wonderful voices and the musicians were really great.

The Great Opera Arias Concert is an excellent live concert of Opera arias, the only one to be performed, in the city of Rome, in a theater, inside a building dating back to the seventeenth century, located in the heart of Rome, 100 meters from the Pantheon. The concert is a selection of the most famous Opera arias created by great Italian composers such as Puccini, Verdi, Rossini, Mascagni, classics of "Bel Canto", and Neapolitan songs. The program is performed by an ensemble composed of a soprano, a tenor and a string quartet, all virtuosos of Italian opera music. The theater of Palazzo Santa Chiara has perfect acoustics and is the only place in Rome, where opera arias concerts are performed in an auditorium equipped with comfortable velvet seats and air conditioning, and that offers the chance to enjoy an aperitif at the cocktail bar before the concert.
We found this wonderful venue by accident and bought tickets. As spontaneous choices can often be this turned out to be one of most memorable experiences of our five day stay in Rome. Superb musicianship in a small intimate theatre with its own 13th century chapel close to the awe inspiring Pantheon. What more can I say....remarkable. The staff were wonderful including the delightful Alice.
