The mosques, bazaars, and Turkish baths of Istanbul could keep you happily occupied for your entire trip: an eyeful of breathtaking architecture here, a good-natured haggle over a carpet there. Kick your trip off at the awe-inspiring Sultan Ahmet Camii (Blue Mosque), which is visible from many points of the city. Stroll the Galata Bridge and stop by the Miniaturk Park to see its tiny artifacts. The Grand Bazaar has thousands of shops to browse, while the Egyptian Bazaar is a fragrant trove of spices and fruits.

I arranged a visit for my Mum to go for a tile painting session whilst she was in Istanbul for her birthday. Arrangements with Betul were very quick and easy, and they made the surprise even better by pretending she was there for a belly dancing class! The tiles look beautiful and I can’t wait to see them when they get them home in one piece. Thank you to Betul and the teacher Gulsen for making the experience so great ☺️

I highly recommend to visit this gallery, meet amazing hosts, shop for great value products and just get a warm and very welcoming recharge while being on sightseeing tour. Follow the name table, gallery is bit hidden out of usual touristic path, worth visiting for sure.

We stopped in on our way to the Grand Bazaar on a very hot day, and this was a good place to cool off. There are stone stairs (or an elevator) to reach the bottom of the picturesque cistern. All of the ancient columns that support the ceiling are very attractive. The exhibit is free and highlights rotating art exhibits. When we were there, sculptures were on display at the bottom of the cistern.
