Booked the Wild Barra kayaking trip which was a mixture of camping and lodge based accomodation. The guides were absolutely fantastic, making sure everyone was well looked after and imparting tips to help improve paddling technique. Went for the fully catered option and was impressed with the food and how well my dietary requirements were met. The hosts were really friendly, and the location itself was beautiful, within a few minutes walk of the get terminal and village shops and cafes.

We were in Barra for a few days and decided last minute to hire bikes to cycle around. Bikes were good quality and functioned well. Given how short notice it was there was excellent availability too. Bikes in the background of my photo ;-)

The Hebridean Way passes through some of the most spectacular landscape in the UK. It is dual aspect, with a 156-mile long distance walking route and separate 185-mile long distance national cycle network route (NCN 780). Steeped in History, the Hebridean Way stretches along the length of the Outer Hebrides from Vatersay in the south to the Lewis in the north. The route passes through 10 Islands linked by a combination of causeways and ferries, over rugged hills and along dazzling Atlantic coastline. Whether cycling or walking, this is the place to tune into nature, leave your worries behind and enjoy!
An amazing experience to come here. It's hard to believe this is Scotland. It is a white sand beach with crystal clear waters, from the pictures it looks like it could be Bora Bora. If in Barra you must come here!

This is the only commercial airport in the world where planes land and take off on the beach. We visited the airport and saw 2 flights land and one take off. Amazing. The flights come in from Glasgow and times vary from day to day as it depends on tide times. A must see if you go to the island.
