We spent the day poking around art galleries in the Keys. I have nothing against tarpon and beach scenes, but after about 8 stops, the fish heads were all starting the blur together. Michelle Nicole Lowe's gallery was our last stop and Michelle herself greeted us from her table in the back where she was, as we might have expected, painting. Her pieces are vibrant and colorful and, although her subjects are also marine life, her style is different from a lot of Keys artists. Her prices are mid range compared to the other galleries we visited and you can tell she has a passion for her art. Michelle is also very nice and friendly. We enjoyed chatting with her and hearing about her gallery. If you are looking for a gallery that is refreshingly different, stop into see Michelle.

An Art Gallery featuring resident artists Dwayne & Cindy King as well as other local Keys artists. An attached workshop where visitors can watch Dwayne & Cindy create and a tropical hardwood garden with winding pathways adorned with sculptures and surprises.
Old Road Gallery is at Mileage Marker 88.8. It is an art studio owned by Dwayne King (copper & brass) and Cindy King (pottery) They also have on display several other artists products. The store is small, but packed with beautiful one-of-a-kind items. Cindy gave us a tour and suggested we visit the gardens. We really enjoyed the Sculpture Garden - full of wonderfully whimsical corners with functional seating, broken pottery pieces and several of the neighbors roosters & chickens! I inquired about a ceramic butter bell and there was one, but I already had one that was similar. I ended up purchasing aSecret Wooden Box for $18.00. Definitely stop in and be sure to see the garden!

Located in a historical 1937 Red Cross House we are a Coastal Lifestyle and Marine artwork by local Artist Roberto Pasta Pantaleo. Please stop by and meet the artist. Bring your children in and they will receive a free hand signed poster.
My wife and I came across Pasta's art work at one of the Islamorada restaurant's. We went to the gallery and were really impressed with how he portrays the fish and landscapes of the area. Pasta and his wife took the time to talk to us and help find exactly what we were looking for. They were very cool and passionate about his work. He even touched up and played with one of the paintings to make it just what I was looking for. We ended up buying two pieces to bring home with us. Highly recommend stopping by and if you're lucky - meeting the artist!

Art gallery and studio specializing in contemporary art pieces depicting rescue animals. Call to schedule classes, or before stopping by. Throughout the years Maxine, an English native, has championed a great number of causes. From creating "Arts in the Garden" where countless children's lives, regardless of income, continue to be enriched through art, music and dance...to telling the stories of rescue animals from the animal's perspective, with her signature fusion of pop and impressionistic artwork Max calls "RESCUE is the NEW PUREBREED". Maxine also offers children and adult painting and stained art classes.

The Museum is dedicated to collecting, preserving, displaying, and interpreting artifacts, antiques, books, documents, photographs, and oral history relative to the History of Diving. We tell the international story of man's attempts to explore, understand, and venture under the sea. We also celebrate the special role that South Florida and the Florida Keys played in this story. The Florida Keys History of Diving Museum is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational institution focused on the Story of Man's Quest to Explore Under the Sea. The majority of the Museum's artifacts have been provided through the generous support of its founders, Drs. Joe and Sally Bauer, who hold one of the largest collection of historic diving equipment and research documents in the world.
Neat place right on the main road. Has an amazing collection of diving artifacts and gives you a nice history lesson on the evolution of diving and how it is used today. Highly recommended little stop if you are a diver or history enthusiast.

What do lobster traps and art have in common? Our Islamorada-based gift shop and gallery has the answer: tropical artwork in repurposed lobster trap frames. When we took an art class in 2002, we had no idea that our hobby would evolve into a full-blown store and website by 2003. Now, our in-person and online visitors are dazzled not only by our signature frames and paintings that line the gallery walls but also by our underwater photographs, apparel designs, gifts, and other brightly-colored items. We can create custom lobster-trap frames for pieces you bring in, and we can even custom-print your photos onto a wide variety of items in less than 15 minutes! Inspired by our travels in the Caribbean and the Florida Keys, our store speaks to art lovers both near and far.
Great staff & really beautiful framed art. Purchased a small framed tile but wish I had more room in my luggage to have bought more. Definitely worth a stop for unique souvenirs!
