Hope was our first rescue in January 2004, Dusty the second. Since then over 450 donkeys have been taken into our refuge here in Corfu. As a refuge we aim to give: the old a safe and happy retirement; the sick a chance of cure; the injured the chance of recovery; the abused the chance of regaining trust and hope and the abandoned the feeling of security again. Take a look on our website for more information, pictures and a detailed map.You are very welcome to visit us, see the work we do and experience the calm company of our donkeys.

My husband talked me into taking the family here and I have to admit I was rather relctant. However I am so glad we went as we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The map was kinda useful and there was plenty to see with lots of welcome shade. The highlights were feeding the deer (the staff worked hard to include my children and make them feel relaxed whilst they did this) and feeding the beautiful racoons who were so much fun. Loved the visit and thought the staff were great too

With help of our host, we discovered a wild beach, almost no people. Light sand, warm clear water, such a lovely place. You need to walk 30 minutes, but it is worth of all efforts.

I believe Mounda joins with Kaminia beach and the two are a long stretch of golden sand curving round crystal blue waters. It’s very shallow and you have to go out a fair way to swim but it’s great for kids and wallowing in the shallows.theres a few pockets of rocks and seaweed which are worth a quick snorkel but nothing amazing. Turtles come ashore and lay their eggs in the soft dry sand so DO NOT put sun umbrellas up in this sand. Some areas are cordoned off and this is definitely where there are turtle eggs so keep away. All in all, lush and even better to think of the turtles arriving at night to leave their eggs and baby turtles heading down this beach for the first time in their lives....

Athough no turtles were present during our visit, this is the most amazing place. Everyone is welcome, easy parking, no entrance fee, food available, interesting displays . Great information about the turtles nesting at the adjacent beach. Don't miss it!
