Ioannina is one of Northern Greece's most atmospheric cities. It is set on the western shore of the lovely Lake Pamvotis, and framed by the impressive mountain range that turns lilac at sunset. The walls of the old town (Kastro) enclose an atmospheric, tranquil old quarter, and the lakeside area is lined by opulent plane trees that let in dappled afternoon sunlight. Together with jutting minarets, the fantastic fortress and the unique appeal of the island ( To Nisi ), Ioannina makes a beautiful place to visit. Trip takes from 8 to 10 hours according to clients needs. Dodoni archaeological site is one of the most ancient of oracles in Greece. It was dedicated to Zeus. It’ not as well known as other archeological sites in Greece, but it’s a nice place to visit, especially to see one of the best preserved ancient Greek theaters. It was the oldest of the Greek oracles and ancient people traveled great distances in order to consult the priests who foretold the future.

It was amazing day just for 25 euros per person. Captain Spyros took us from Agios Gordios and drived us to Gouvia by his car telling nice stories about villages we passed. The boat was big and nice and Spyros was the best part of it. He was joking, singins, dancing, talking to everyone and making food. The food was very tasty, and free coffe, biscuits and free wine all the day. The three places we stopped were very nice especially this wild beahh near the lake.
A visit to the Dodoni Theater takes you straight to ancient Greece. It is one of the largest ancient theaters in Greece. Ioannina is the capital of Epirus. It lies encased in a picturesque mountain landscape on an inland lake and offers the flair of a modern, Greek city with a lot of history. A day trip that you will remember.

We enjoyed a superb private tour “Paradisial Peloponnese” with Pictours of Greece. George, our tour leader, delivered a magical week with great food and diverse experiences from wine tasting to cave exploration as well as the many historical sites. Never have we been so pampered! Babis, our guide with amazing knowledge and panache, brought Greek history to life and was simply enthralling as we explored the Parthenon, Nemea, Monevasia, Olympia, Mycenae, Sparta, Ancient Corinth and so much more. We had great difficulty selecting the best moment from the many experiences but concluded that hearing Babis tell the story of Agamemnon and Helen at the top of Mycenae was our fondest memory. We were somewhat wary of a tour with a historic and cultural focus but our concern quickly disappeared as we entered the tunnel at Nemea and lined up at the race start as athletes would have done thousands of years ago. Every day brought a new adventure and enchanting stories. The attention to detail and the genuine caring throughout the week made the trip effortless and smooth. Greece in winter without the crowds was simply incredible - the stunning sites, diverse experiences, the beautiful landscape, the warm welcomes, and the delicious food. Highly recommended!

My son, daughter-in-law and I had booked a 14-day private tour of Athens, Crete, Santorini, Milos and Naxos with Private Tours Greece from May 1-14, 2020 and made a 30% down payment by credit card on 02/06/2020. All interactions with Private Tours Greece went smoothly and were professional and friendly. Then, due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and my son's illness, on 03/13/2020, well ahead of the deadline for a fully-refundable cancellation, I asked Private Tours Greece to release all reservations it had made on our behalf, but to hold my deposit, in the hope that we might be able to reschedule our trip later in 2020 or in the spring of 2021. Private Tours Greece complied with my request and issued a credit voucher for the down payment I had made. As the pandemic continued to surge and Greece remained closed to visitors from the United States, on 4/17/2021, after essentially extending an interest-free loan to Private Tours Greece for over a year, I requested that my down payment be fully refunded and credited to the same credit card account to which it had been charged. Thereupon, Private Tours Greece staff claimed that the request for refund had been "forwarded" ... as it turned out later, to Alpha Bank. Nothing happened for a week. I then engaged in repeated e-mail exchanges with Private Tours Greece staff, only to be subjected to a stream of equivocations, obfuscations of the facts, and invalid excuses, including a claim that Private Tours Greece was doing me a favor by agreeing to a refund because the Greek government had allegedly given it the option to hold my funds indefinitely. I then contacted the general manager of the company, who sent me what purported to be a Greek language request to Alpha Bank (that I was unable to read) to issue the refund, along with further invalid excuses, never responding to my complaint that Private Tours Greece was in breach of its contractual obligation to issue a full refund of my down payment, not to mention doing the honorable thing, i.e., issue an immediate refund from an account he controlled directly, rather than blaming Alpha Bank for the delay by claiming that it "required" 10-15 "working" days to complete the request. Even that outlandishly ridiculous period has now expired! A complaint I submitted to Alpha Bank has received no response to date. It has now been nearly a full month since my refund request of 4/17/2021, and I may have to initiate legal action against Private Tours Greece ... with all the complexities and additional outlays and delays that would involve ... in order to reclaim my funds. The lesson to be learned here is that Private Tours Greece cannot be counted upon to honor its promises and contractual commitments. If there is any chance at all that you may have to cancel your trip, STAY AWAY!
