The maiden stone is one of those simple attractions that will enhance your interest in historic Scottish relics, like the stone circles that seem to abound in this part of the country. The folklore associated with this stone is fascinating and like many other ancient relics, subject to interpretation. But it's worth a stop just to see something as old as this carved stone.
