Marine Life Discovery Park

Reviewed By szeyinm

Marine Life Discovery Park is a new attraction in Bintan that was opened in Oct 2019. Very well maintained park. From entrace, we were greeted by smiley receptionists that explained the inclusions in the entrance fees. Adult IDR 150,000, Child IDR 100,000. Which equates to SGD15 and SGD10 respectively however they only accept IDR but take major credit cards. We got free guided tour by Verdy as part of the freebies during soft opening. He took his time to walked us through all attractions and shared his knowledge about each animals and their interesting facts. Firstly, we walked through ECO Sanctuary to learn about the two species of turtles they have and you can feed the turtles for IDR 30,000 as part of their conservations donation. Yuyun spent her time to demonstrate how to pat the turtles and explained the harmful effects of plastic rubbish in the ocean that often was mistaken as jellyfish by the turtles as food and causing death. Interesting facts, all the turtles in the sanctuary are females and asked the friendly guide for reason. ECO LIFE BOARDWALK is where you can meet mangroves animals eg sea hawk, monitor lizard, mud crabs, python and mudskippers. Kids will be fascinated with their magic aquarium where you can put your hands magically into the tank to feel the fishes and the water will not flow out. SEA And TOUCH POOL was manned by Gunawan on that day. He is very good with kids and spent time encouraging my girl to come in the pool to have close encounter with the star fish, sea cucumber, fishes and baby shark. Kids can snorkel in KIDS EXPLORER which is about 1metre deepest to meet different species of fishes and star fish. Bigger kids can venture to MARINE ODYSSEA to snorkel and swim with over 70species of fishes. Try your luck to spot the 50kgs Grouper that like to hide among the rocks and coral. Unfortunately, the SHARKY SHORES and RAY DISCOVERY is not operational yet during our visit in January 2020. The Marine Cafe, served mouth watering local and western food. We ordered Ayam Penyet, Satay Ayam and kids meal chicken bento. They taste good and price cheaper than the two hotels nearby. We spent more than 3hours enjoying each attractions. The park fees is well worth it for their conservation effort and awareness programme they bring to the visitors. The family of Marine Life Discovery Park especially Yuyun, Verdy and Gunawan had presented a memory of lifetime for us today. Thank you. We will definitely come back again.

Bali Bird Park

Enjoy walking around and get along with a thousand birds and its habitat. The Park is divided into seven regions that recreate the natural habitats of our birds, complete with indigenous plant life. You can travel from the deep misty jungle of Sumatra to Far East Indonesia and Papua to discover the native birds from these remote regions. Venture to other tropical continents too. See the South American exotics such as the Golden Macaw and the Congo Grey Parrot from the African Savannah. Enter into their real living environment and see how they play with their colony, how they breed, and feel their happiness. You'll love them. Be entertained with our various bird shows and feeding activities and also many special programs made only for you. Take photos from lots of incredible scenes and taste the richness of local Balinese culinary and international cuisine from our fantastic menus in the restaurant.

This was our fourth family visit. The park continues to make incremental improvements and is great for all generations of the family. It has always offered a great day out with well managed and accessible natural exhibits set in a pleasing park like environment - many of the birds are kept in the open or in bigger aviaries ( though some are kept in smaller cupboard cages, which seem to be being phased out). The birds come from a wide background including SE Asia, South America, and South Africa. There are specific areas for, and more focus on, Sumatra, Borneo, Papua, Java and of course Bali. There is a Komodo Dragon exhibit as well. The bird shows and feeding sessions are not gimmicky or exploitative and the staff seem genuinely interested in, and caring for, the birds there. There is a very good cafe onsite which is offers snacks and lunch ( Balinese and international food). Best suggested time to visit is mid morning to avoid the worst of the traffic, catch the shows and then have a later lunch and drinks when it gets hotter.

2nd visit on my adulthood life :) the park is huge, a great place for children and adult to interact with the different kinds of animal. Be careful with the temptation to feed the animals with the carrot (sold on the roadside on the way to the park by the local resident) as the activity is actually prohibited by the park. However when you decide to sneak the snacks for the animals, prepare yourself to be surrounded by the heard of different animals. They are waiting for their snacks and are very persistent on getting it, :D. A lot of other activities, playgrounds, shows, and event a separate whole area for the Giant Panda couple. 1 day might not be enough to cover all of the attraction.

Night at the Zoo offers a fantastic experience exploring the zoo after dark! It is the next best thing to do while on the island besides gazing at a dramatic sunset on the beach. Serving up a great variety of wildlife, Bali Zoo invites you to experience nocturnal animals watching in their prime hour. The night at the zoo program begins at 6 pm and ends at 9 pm. The night at the zoo package includes a la carte dinner that is proudly served at Wana Restaurant. Our ticketing staff will guide individual guests or small groups less than 20 people through our dinner menu that varied from barbeque to Indian vegetarian cuisine. While Churrasco style international buffet is served for a group of 20 people or more.

Sanctoo Suites and Villas gave me an adventure which I cherish till date. It was Night at the Zoo where the real adventure begins after dark. We got to see rare nocturnal habitats of deers, kangaroos, lion, tiger and we get to feed them too. It was so thrilling to see the Asian Bear Cat moving on a rope and pythons and elephants too. Loving and feeding them counts for another experience altogether. Taking a python on myself for the first time was a strange, slimy but a lovely experience as it was harmless and assisted. We were also taken on a bus ride within the zoo surrounded with elephants through which we fed them corn and we could touch their trunks and love them too. We crossed all through the spacious walking paths, garden plazas, showcase areas, water features, a lake on which elephants were roaming and Tiger Trail. We had a yummy dinner which was scheduled at Wana Restaurant located in the middle of Bali Zoo just a few meters from the lion family enclosure. For those of you who want to do some shopping and take back more memories, there is the souvenir shop to buy some cool toys, tees and some more cute goodies just next to the Wana restaurant. Cute animal soft toys were my favourite. The night didn’t end here. Another exciting adventure was the Fire show and Dance performance by the African traditional artists. It was enthralling, thrilling and an adventurous fire dance which was the wildest experience as they were dancing with fire in their hands. I also had the chance to dance with them on stage and get clicked. It was such a wonderful feeling and a thrilling adventure. This experience is definitely a must in Bali! So, all in all, it was a lovely experience be it the animal feeding or the food we had or the dance! I enjoyed every bit of it and wish to go back again to have all the more fun with ofcourse more people this time. Time to head back to the villa for a good night sleep. The dimly lit villa looked even more beautiful with twinkling stars over our private pool.

I love this place because it takes care of various types of birds, the settings was very nice and interesting for kids. Our favourite place was the love birds place. The love bird was easy to touch and play with. Our kids was enthusiastic since there are colorful birds. My negative feedback was only on the access road to go there. When we went back home we was stuck in very bad traffic jam because the road is narrow especially because more people came to visit some tourism attraction arround there.

First time going there with my friends to relax and experience new things. We were immediately greeted with a warm welcome by the staff named Louisa. We walked in awe and admiration towards the variety of animals presented as she explained all of their names, behaviors, characteristics, and so on. Thought we were on a National Geographic TV Show for a second there :D . We thought to ourselves that Louisa is truly knowledgeable & passionate about what she does that's why we never felt bored and keep entertained. . We proceed to see her explaining the archerfish, how to feed Meerkat. Those were unforgettable moments we would love to experience again. . But we kinda sad seeing those jellyfishes displayed so few..

Lombok Wildlife Park

Our vision has always been to create an animal sanctuary that will entirely feel intimate. One so immersive that the visitors themselves will enjoy each and every bit of their experience. Being so close and interactive with the exotic animals, our vision is now a reality. Say hello to our lovely resident at Lombok Wildlife Park !

Wonderful experience. We were concerned at first about the animals’ welfare, but left quite reassured at the quality of care and enclosures for the animals. We were thrilled with such close contact with the orangutans and elephants. Our personal guide was friendly and informative and helped make it such a great experience. Really recommend it for families!
