Hello, My wife & I were a part of this small group tour with another Brazilian family. Our guide was Micael Neto.He was very friendly & very approachable from the start of the tour.He drives well & is able to communicate his point in English. We personally preferred the Aveiro part to Coimbra. The Costa Nova beach & the light house were fantastic. The Moliserro cruise is an experience one should have.We had lunch & Avos Moles at the Market Square at Cafe Pixinho. The Coimbra tour was mainly a university, cathedral & the market square. Speaking personally about Micael a few incidents which stood out for me, a)He found a restaurant in Aveiro which serves vegeterian food for us. b)In Coimbra when the others were busy in the university he took us to the Botanical Garden & Cathedral. c)He helped us plan the rest of our trip in Porto & Lisbon with his suggestions. d)He even recommended places to have vegeterian food near our hotel. e)He ensured that each members personal interests were taken care off during the tour.He made it a point to understand our likes & dislikes.Eg.He made it a point to show me the storks nests & the Dragao stadium. The tour was well organised as any other but Micael was very good & would highly reccomend travelling with Micael to anybody in the future. Cheers, Dr.Vidhi & Harshit

An AMAZING experience with Isa who, from pick up outside our Airbnb, was so friendly, welcoming, warm and full of pertinent and interesting information which made the whole trip so worthwhile! The drive was comfortable with a mix of friendly and informative conversation up into the mountains and the valley with wonderful views the whole way. Once to the valley, WOW, the views were spectacular! The first winery had the views as well and a friendly guide, Marta, with DELICIOUS wines, olive oil and honey all grown/made on site. Hesitant to leave it was onto the river boat tour which was sooo relaxing and scenic. Then it was onto a local traditional restaurant that can also accommodate vegetarian/vegan (made up a wonderful pasta dish for the hubby off menu) that came with wine, fresh bread and local olive oil, main dish and dessert for an incredible price (because we were with the tour company) and it also had the views over the town, river and vineyards on the hillsides as well. The last winery was more focused on Ports with lots of info, more views, the fun Maria with Isa to give tons more info and great tastings with tasty snacks and lots of conversation and laughing. The way back to Porto was comfortable conversation as we’d definitely made a friend in Isa along with all the beauty, info and of course wine shared throughout the day. Have already been telling all our friends and family about this tour (and others from Cool Tours and especially Isa!!)! Unforgettable!!

This review is YEARS in the making (so long ago that Tripadvisor won't let me select the correct year)! On our trip to Porto in August 2018, we wanted to take a trip to the Douro region and found Pedro with North-on-Wheels and selected the Charm Douro tour. He organized the most INCREDIBLE experience we could have ever imagined! We still talk about this trip and what an amazing day Pedro planned for us. Before our trip even started, Pedro communicated with us about our food preferences, the best days for the tour (weather), and so much more. Our day started at 8 am with Pedro picking us up in a beautiful air-conditioned Mercedes van, which we had all to ourselves! He then took us to Amarante where we visited São Gonçalo church and the old bridge, and after, we sat down and had some local pastries and coffee with Pedro. Afterwards, we toured Favaios estate cellars and had a delicious regional lunch. We also went to the Mateus Palace for a guided tour around the estate and grounds. Our day did not end there, we had a private two-hour boat cruise down the Douro river with a tasting menu of typical Portuguese food and Douro wines, hosted by Jorge. After the boat cruise, Pedro picked us up from the marina and took us back to our hotel (over a 10+ hr day). Not only was this the most spectacular day, Pedro was a wonderful guide! Everything we did was included in the package price and Pedro organized everything. He also made sure to stop and take a lot of photos of us throughout the day, which he sent us after our trip. Thank you, Pedro (and Jorge!) for the most magnificent and memorable day!

Went on this tour last October, and had a wonderful experience! Silvia was our guide and she was so amazingly sweet and thoughtful. We travelled with a french couple and she literally explained everything in two languages: French and English. Not only is that extremely nice, I can only imagine the energy that takes :) The whole experience of driving through Douro, the wines, the people we spoke to and the delicious wines we could taste: would definitely recommend. My daughter and I took a walking tour with Norberto Lopes Pinto in Porto. He was by far the best tour guide we had during our stay in Porto and Lisbon. He is very knowledgeable about the history of his Country. Whether it be architectural, political, or about local gems. His personality is warm and inviting, with a good sense of humor. He created the perfect balance of pointing something out and "moving on" and "staying still" to take in, and learn about about something of important interest. Having Norberto as our first guide raised the bar for each guide after him. A tough act to follow! We're so thankful to have had him show us Porto. Highly recommended.
