This beach was a fairly easy walk from the central part of town with good sineage to follow. Big wide, flat beach with lots of palm trees for shade and some picnic tables to use. No beach chairs or beach 'sellers-of-goods' around at all. There was a small restaurant up the little street from the beach where you would be able to get lunch or beverages, bit mone on the beach itself. Nice clean beach. Well- protected from wind and waves with the islands around it. The snorkeling was ok, bit disappointing. I heard from folk who went to Sugarloaf beach the snorkeling was great there, next time we will try that beach. This beach is a nice beach to relax on and enjoy the day. Great for swimming. No sargassum while we were there in mid-December.

We were recommended to visit Sugar Loaf Beach (Plage du Pain de Sucre) by the lovely ladies at Green Car Location where we had hired our golf carts. It is quite a way down the island and although it is walkable from the ferry jetty I would suggest its about 3km away and would take 45 mins or so to walk to it as there are some steep hills. If you get a cab (not many about) its less than 10 mins drive. The beach is accessible from a path down from the road which is a bit rough and ready but it is worth it when you get down. It is quite a narrow beach and there are no facilities and little shade but there is a café / bar about a third of the way down. When you do get to the beach the location is simply fabulous just what I imagine the Caribbean used to be like. Crystal clear waters and idyllic scenery. When we go back as I am sure we will we will be a bit better prepared and bring some lunch & drinks with us as you have to pass a supermarket on the road out of town to the beach.
