12 Tonar, established in 1998, is a legendary record store and a label in the heart of Reykjavik. In 2019 we added a bar and a cafe which is very popular with the locals. We regularly host concerts and events in the store or in our beautiful backyard, where the sun always shines. Established in 1998 12 Tonar music store quickly became an important part of the Icelandic music scene. In 2003 we started the label with a special emphasis on young and upcoming musicians. Oscar Winner Hildur Guðnadottir, 2 times Oscar nominated Johann Johannsson and Gramophone Artist of the year, pianist Vikingur Olafsson all took their first steps with us. All the profits we make go directly back into the music creating an organic 12 Tonar dedicated to the local scene.
Cool, cozy shop who greet you with a friendly hello and a nice cup of espresso. Picked up some cool Iceland bands on vinyl with great recommendations from the owner. If you are a vinyl collector and are in Reykjavik, do not miss this shop.

Askur Taproom is a Taproom located in the brewery "Austri Brugghús" in Egilsstaðir. We offer a good variety of local craft beer and beer flights, along with quality coffee and good cocktails. At Askur Taproom you can book a tour around the brewery for groups where you can taste the local beer straight off the tank and get to know the brewing process itself. Guests can come by and enjoy beverages, watch TV or play a game of darts in a friendly atmosphere. We now offer great local pizzas as well! *Free WiFi *Flat screen TV for sports *Beer Pong table *Dartboard
While originally looking for a Café we "accidentally" found the Askur Taproom & Pizzeria. It's a craft brewery with its own pizzeria next / connected to it. The place is really cool: The taproom is directly connected to the brewery with windows and a glass door between, so you can also have a look at the brewery while drinking your beer. When we visited there were 6 beers on tap, from a classic Kölsch up to very creative beers with Wasabi or Earl Grey infused. The beers were great, I loved it! Even better was the staff: We were chatting the whole time with the barkeeper and another local guy about Iceland, Germany, Croatia and of course: Beer! Very friendly and very cool. We loved it! PS: According to my girlfriend the pizza is also great!

At Session Craft Bar we concentrate on quality. With a cooled keg room we can keep the beer as fresh as possible from production. Variety of local and foreign beers. It's not only a craft bar but we also serve variety of premium wines, cocktails and coffee. Come and enjoy the view of Iceland's busiest street corner. Ask the staff, they're experts at helping you make the right choice.
In Iceland on a cruise, Took a ride on the Hop on hop off bus to the cathedral, started walking and found the Happy Hour sign!!! 50% off till 7pm/1900. The bartender was awesome, explained a lot of the different brews. Nice base setting with a great view of the street. We had the Session IPA and Lager. My wife doesn't usually like IPA, but she liked this one, so guess who got to drink the lager. A great place to get a cold one.

On a trip with Reykjavík Excursions our tour guide recommended this restaurant for some local cuisine. We are so glad we went, dinner was fabulous. To start we went for the culture platter to share, which consisted of Reindeer Meatballs, Whale’s fin, popped Cod skin, Smoked Salmon, Lamb Bacon, Smoked Lamb, goat’s cheese and selection of breads. For main course, my husband went for the traditional Icelandic burger and criss cross fries. I opted for the traditional fish pie which contained cod, this was delicious. They have a huge selection of beers, spirits and wines. We would highly recommend visiting for some traditional food and drinks at a good price.
