At Salt Eldhus, (Icelandic for kitchen) we invite you to join us for some delicious fun and a chance to learn about Icelandic food culture first hand. This is a hands on activity where you cook & dine under the supervision of skilled chefs and get rewarded afterwards with the fruits of your labor, accompanied with a glass of wine. We offer both Cook and Dine and Demo & Dine experiences for private groups during the evening.

In the centre where Reykjavik’s old heart beats there is a charming red house, once called Aberdeen. There, Kogga, one of Iceland’s most renowned ceramic artists, runs her studio and gallery. The artist warmly welcomes visitors to her gallery that displays unique art pieces hand crafted on the spot. Catch a glimpse of the kiln in the back, it ensures visitors to cool Iceland a very warm welcome indeed!

Culture and Craft is a company that works with people who are interested in increasing their knowledge of knitting, and aimed at everyone from beginners to more advanced knitters. Participants learn about Icelandic wool and the culture that has developed since the time of the settlement. Culture and Craft workshops and courses are run by Ragnheiður Jóhannsdóttir, a skilled educator with over 40 years’ knitting experience. She offers 3 hour knitting workshops, walking tours and longer knitting courses for up to 7 days, all of which are conducted in English and for a maximum group size of 12 people.Find more information and booking on our website.

Human Writes is a half day creative writing workshop downtown Reykjavik. Inspired by Reykjavik's Human Rights Manifesto this workshop was created and it's about finding creativity and being inspired by art, nature ourselves and others. Workshops are held Tuesdays and Saturdays from 13:00-17:00 at the City Library.

We are an Art and Design collective, selling a wide variety of goods. In Skúmaskot you can buy paintings, prints, cards, clothes, sculptures, jewelry, ceramics, glass ornaments, and so much more. Everything in the shop is designed and made by the 11 artists and designers who run the shop, and when you visit you get to meet one of them, as they take turns working in the shop.

We offer fully equipped fishing rods for rent and guided fishing trips. Tackle shop. Plus some handmade products from the locals.

The day-session We end in our hall with an excellent view over the see - with a buffet of cakes and bread, where you can taste the most common and the most traditional afternoon meal in Iceland. You will get stories and talk about the history of cakes and bread in Iceland and you can make your own Icelandic pancakes using 40, 60 or 80 years old pancake-pans. Evening session In the end you relax and enjoy the excellent view and eat our very good Icelandic lamb-soup and drink Icelandic beer. Then you get warm Icelandic pancakes with homemade Icelandic jam and cream and the opportunity to make your own, using a 40, 60 or 80 years old pancake-pan.
