An ancient granite fort keeps watch on this city of mosques and bazaars. On the site of the former town center sits its most iconic building, the Charminar, built in 1591 with a quartet of 160-foot minarets. Across Hussain Sagar, a man-made lake, is Hyderabad's twin, the city of Secunderabad.

The best thing about this place is the excellent value for money meals. They serve one of the best Irani tea and samosas in the city. Also highly recommended is the egg curry, Khatti dal and the chicken curry. Every Sunday an Organic bazzar is organized where you can buy organically grown and processed food stuff

If you ask me, this is ONE place I'd absolutely recommend that you go if you're in Banjara Hills. Buzzing with activity all through the day, Lamakaan is a hub for creative folks to meet and greet. Renowned for its open doors to artists of all kinds, this place also has a stage that hosts theatre, music, dance and other performances on a regular basis. I have been there at least 4 times, and every time I've had a fab experience with the food and activity. All you need is Rs 50-100, and you could have a decent meal. You MUST TRY their Samosa, Katti Dal and Roti, Nimbu Pani, Butter Milk, Sandwich and Bread Omelette. Chai is, of course, a great add-on!
