Huntsville is the fourth-largest city in Alabama, located in the northernmost part of the state. A city with a 200-year Southern heritage, visitors will find activities that celebrate Huntsville’s rich history, as well as attractions that highlight the city’s scientific side. At the Alabama Constitution Village, villagers in period clothing take time from their daily chores to guide you through eight reconstructed Federal style buildings. Younger visitors will love the 150 hands-on activities at the Sci-Quest Hands-on Science Center and older kids will learn what it takes to be an astronaut at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center. Looking for outings with a cultural flair? Landmarks such as the Huntsville Botanical Garden and Huntsville Museum of Art are must sees. The National Trust for Historic Preservation named Huntsville to its "America's Dozen Distinctive Destinations for 2010" list.

First off, don't be worried if you call a few times and you can't book right away. I left my number and I was called back in a day or two. We followed our GPS and I wasn't sure we were heading in the right direction. It was spot on! It was supposed to storm today but my son and I didn't care. We saddled up and headed out on the trail. What a beautiful path. Halfway through our ride, the sky opened up and it poured! I'm talking a total monsoon. I laughed my butt off. I ride my motorcycle in the rain all the time. We started to trot back to the stable. Our guide decided it would be safer for us to dismount and let the horses head back to the barn themselves. She called for a ride and the owner came in her pick up truck. We went around the bend and there were our horses wandering back to the barn. Too funny! We were totally drenched. I could have wrung my underwear out. Right on! What a great time! The owner kept apologizing for the rain. We laughed. This is what memories are made of. She offered to make it right. What she didn't know is it was already all right! If we end up anywhere near Star HB Farms again in our travels, we will be sure to book another ride. Thanks so much!
