Love this for a weekend walk or hike. Plenty of parking. We visit once a week if we can since we have the Empire pass. You can find a map online on the NY State Park website.

It’s a fantastic set of trails. Great wildlife and a wonderful way to spend a morning in nature. Start at the fee part and walk the trails. Totally worth it.

My kids enjoyed feeding the fish and watching them jump on top of another for the food. We love the tiny aquarium and live exhibit with stream exhibit, baby turtles, snapping turtle, frogs and species local to Long Island. Very doable when you are with little ones. We got to eat out at the bench area on a nice sunny day. We missed out reserving for the fishing experience as it booked out but will definitely go back and do that!

Although this is a relatively short hike, it is very challenging and poses a great cardio work-out. be sure to wear hiking shoes, as the terrain can be steep and difficult in some areas; also muddy after the rain. Beautiful views of the harbor can be seen from the top. Many families as well as dogs enjoy this hiking course.
