The Cirko-Gejzir is Europe's smallest cinema - a meeting point for film enthusiasts offering the best of the world's current arthouse cinema. Quirky, cosy and atmospheric - it is a must for film buffs in Budapest! The Cirko-Gejzir also offers a home for film festivals and screens retrospective programmes - e.g. the iconic 7-hour Satantango by Bela Tarr is featured from time to time.
I was there to watch an art film. The staff is frirndly, the place is clean and warm. If you visit BP dont miss this little gem.

Whatever you’re up to, we hope you have a good time in Pécs. We have a nice range of refined arthouse films and a selection of quality mainstream movies for your pleasure. With over a hundred years in operation, Apolló is the oldest cinema in town, as well as the only art cinema of the region… and the smallest, too. Enjoy your stay & see you at the movies! Good to know: box office opens 30 minutes before the first show of the day. We only accept cash, but you can book your seat online. By default, we screen our movies in original language & with Hungarian subtitles, but it’s best to always check the specifics on our website.

An art movie theatre regularly organizing special events, now the “Jewish and Israeli Film Festival in Budapest” - in a historical building This is the cinema where you can listen to the movies in their original language, which are of course with subtitles. Not only good for language practice. but it brings me back to my youth when I listened so much to the words of Gina Lollobrigida or Sofia Loren when they argued with a glib tongue, no translation can give it back. Now, when I listen to a movie in English, it is always fun to read the very bashful Hungarian subtitle. Puskin doesn't only provide a good program, but being a historical place, you can enjoy the nicely decorated rooms as well. Except for two little cabins on the first floor, that better to avoid, Puskin has comfortable seats, and in the hall, an excellent small coffee shop is operating. They serve some uncomplicated food, also coffee, and drinks. On a cold rainy day, my daughter invited me to have some hot apple juice laced with maybe vodka. It was served with dried apple rings and was surprisingly appealing. That was my first encounter with it, but it won't be the last one. Puskin "mozi" is the place where you can watch a good movie, and after having a drink and a meaningful, enjoyable conversation with your friend in the Restro Puskin.
