Even before you park your park your car you can smell the fragrance of baking bread from the Rockland Bakery. Almost always crowded, testifying to delicious baked goods and great prices, the Rockland Bakery entertains as well as serves you. Take the kids to see the bagels come out of the oven and be taken up on a conveyor belt. Hand pick (with provided plastic gloves) your own freshly baked bread, bagels, tasty Irish Soda Bread, Challah, and various rolls. In the bakery department, you can choose from specialty cakes, cookies, cupcakes, and assorted yummy pastries, including sugar free selections. There is also a deli department with a great assortment of fresh salads, hot meals, cold cuts, sandwiches, packaged cheeses and drinks. While often crowded, the lines move rapidly due to the efficiency of the staff.

I have been scouring book stores for forty years - sometimes with specific books in mind, sometimes just looking for anything that struck my interest. Rodger's Book Barn is the perfect book store that always floated through my imagination - while I diligently sought its embodiment. The extraordinary Maureen Rodgers - and her indefatigable efforts to constantly bring new inventory in - are major factors in the magnetic pull that I always feel - back to the barn. Maureen is smart and charming, delightful and thought provoking - and a thoroughly good and decent person in a time where they seem to be in short supply. There are well stocked sections for readers, researchers, collectors ....young and old. Pricing is another primary virtue of the Barn; it truly is a book store for everyone. I promise you, as solemnly as possible, if you visit the Book Barn you will leave mesmerized with delight.

Little Pickles is a wonderful interactive children's store that combines creative play with merchandising. The store has a wonderful selection of children's games and toys, candy and gifts and children's clothes and shoes. The store has also has a built in play area in the form of a tree house where children can play with select toys that the store has provided. The whole store is painted like a child's playhouse and has a whimsical approach to selling. Its a great place for any family to visit when in the area.
