The mere mention of Hawaii is enough to prompt visions of grass skirts and colorful cocktails with tiny umbrellas. While you will find some kitsch in Honolulu, you’ll also find art museums, bike paths, and some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Popular Waikiki Beach has soft sands and great surf. For majestic Oahu views scramble to the top of Diamond Head – a 350-acre volcanic crater. Historic structures like Iolani Palace and Ali'iolani Hale are worth a visit on a non-beach day.

The Aiea Fabric Mart is wonderful! Went shopping for batik fabric and found a beautiful bolt but insufficient fabric for my needs. One of the staff members was delightful and called another store to see if they had the fabric in stock. I was in luck, as the fabric was found at the other store, so after purchasing 14 yards of fabric, I was off to purchase an additional eight! Headed back to Aiea store the following day to purchase some fabrics for a wall hanging quilt. Love this store for its prices, quality, and customer service.

A must-see destination, the Farmer’s Market at the KCC always satisfies my Hawaiian food cravings - full of tropical fruits such as papaya, pineapple, sugar cane, passion fruit, avocado, longan, bananas, we immediately bought an açai bowl full of fruit, granola and frozen açai, an excellent way to detox the body. Hawaiian coffee rounded out my morning meal. We bought some wonderful baked goods from the La Tour Bakehouse - they carry an extensive selection of breads, granolas, lavosh, crackers, pastries not available in their restaurant. So many foods, so many things to try, it is such a pleasant way to spend the morning. There are lots of tour buses so be prepared for a very busy visit.

A popular 24-hour Asian convenience store, Don Quijote is an affordable one-stop shop for everything from chocolate macadamia nuts to pharmacy, clothes, groceries, and Japanese snacks and gifts.
It is a good place for shopping. Japanese tourists by a lot of items specially chocolates to take back to Japan. It is close to Ala Moana Center about one block away towards the mountain. It has lots of japanese products that the competitor Walmart don't have. The produce and food section is always crowded, and the bentos are delicious.

I am generally hesitant when buying pearls due to the lack of standardization; however, the manager gave me the opportunity to hand pick my pearl with gold ring setting of my choosing. Their customer service is incredible! Having the opportunity to hand pick my grade A tahitian pearl allowed me to customize my gift rather than buying a stock item set. I highly recommend buying at their design center location because of the larger variety of pearls and the ability to watch their workshop make jewelry. The tour is slightly gimmicky, but still nice to know the origin of the business you are investing in. I prefer them over any website or "regular" jewelry store. Highly recommend!!!!
