I would definitely recommend this tour. We had Ivan as our tour guide. He was really knowledgeable and made the walk thoroughly enjoyable and interesting. Although we have been to Hong Kong before and have previously wandered about in the Sheung Wan and Central area on our own, we never really knew the history of the place. I learned a great deal during the tour. The tour operator (all communication was via Ada) was really helpful in adjusting the start time to suit our flight plans and agreeing to start the tour from our hotel instead of the MTR station. A day prior to the tour, they discovered a protest was planned to take place at Central and this would have coincided with the latter third of our tour. I am very grateful they agreed to go ahead with the scheduled tour after I chose to ignore all their dire warnings about the protest and declined the option to defer to another day. They could have chosen to cancel but didn't. Nothing untoward happened. We were very well taken care of. Ivan kept track of what was going on at the protest site via messages from friends. I got a few snaps of the police in their riot gear and guns loaded with canisters of tear gas from a afar up on the hill on way to St John's Cathedral. All quite exciting! ps. I was prepared to get tear gassed, if need be, and requested Ada to get some baking soda for me ahead of time.

The peak tram visit was good, particularly as their was no need to queue for tickets. Stanley market and Aberdeen were also worth visiting. The jewellery factory was nothing more than waste if half an hour. Still worth doing if you've not been before.

This was a great tour to do as there was only the three of us and we could go at our own pace and ask as many questions as we wanted. Our guide, Leeong (sorry I don't know the spelling) was friendly, and knowledgeable. She answered all our questions and gave great shopping advice, especially on bargaining. We covered all the market areas listed in detail - except the bird garden was closed for 21 days due to a disease scare. The walking was easy and the time went very fast. I would recommend this tour.

This specially designed excursion to four popular markets to experience the daily life’s of the local community. On this tour, the first stop is the Flower Market, a jungle of exotic blooms and scents that you'll want to saturate with. Next is Bird Street. A popular haunt for songbird supporters, the visually engaging Yuen Po Street Bird Garden, is designed in the style of a traditional Chinese garden. The park has dozens of stalls selling exotic birds, carefully crafted bamboo cages, porcelain water dishes and other bird-care paraphernalia. We will also visit the nearby Goldfish Market, lined on either side with shops devoted to the raising of many types of fish, from weirdly shaped goldfish to colourful tropical species with equally amazing high price tags.
