Due to the pandemic, we were forced to temporarily close the center in March 2020. We reopened on April 12, 2021, and renamed the center to the Garifuna Cultural Center, you can find new reviews on that page.
Flamingo Cultural Center Roatan Delightful place We were driving around the island and had heard to stop in to Punta Gorda for history about the Garifuna people. The Flamingo Cultural Center was a great stop! Audrey took time to talk with us and answer our questions and show us a video too. Take the time to pop in!

This wonderful museum in a beautiful historic building in the heart of Tegucigalpa is a must see for anyone visiting. The building alone is worth the visit, but be certain to spend some time in the inviting and informative expositions. And definitely stop by the gift shop on the way out... wonderful finds.

An awesome snorkeling adventure at the depth of a swimming pool. The Bay Islands Underwater Museum will take you on a guided snorkel tour of one of the most beautiful reefs in the Caribbean and so much more! Discover Mayan artifacts, a Spanish Galleon ship wreck and the Treasure Chest. See the traditional lobster and conch fishing gear used by the Garifuna people. This is fun for the whole family. The Bay Islands Underwater Museum is an experience you will never forget. Don´t forget to bring cash for beberages and our famous Enzo Pepperoni Pizza, cooked in our adobe mud oven! Birng a towel and beach foot wear for walking on the sand and dock area. All snorkling gear, boat transportation to the site from our dock and a briefing about the museum are included. You will have the best local guides to show you the reef and the marine life!

The museum is located a block from el Parque Central and the Cathedral. It's unimpressive from the outside, but great on the inside. It has a lot of artifacts and items on display that show the history of the Sula Valley and San Pedro Sula. The bottom floor is particularly interesting for kids as it has recreation of older homes and it portrays the local way of life. They have sheets with english explanations throughout the museum. It's very well done and would recommend.

This is a great collection to see before or after the main ruins. It may be more meaningful to see the ruins first. Nice collection. Good English signage. You need 1-1.5 hours to see it all. Highly recommend. If this review is helpful then please indicate so below.

The fortress is in great shape, and you can roam throughout most of it, letting your imagination fly. This is the most significant colonial military building in all of Central America! A nice museum next door will help you understand the history of Omoa from colonial times to present. This is a MUST visit site if you are in the area! Well worth a day trip from San Pedro Sula!

Maybe is not the best museum but is practically the only place to go in the city and anyone who goes to this city should visit.

Get into the history of this place with the old pirate, William Walker and more. Good for pictures and more.
