Kamotsuru Sake Brewing is located in the center of Hiroshima Prefecture in Saijo, Higashi-Hiroshima City. The area is the perfect setting to brew good sake: clean and pure air, rich subsoil water, and a surrounding area of rice production. Today, there are seven sake breweries in a small area of Saijo. At the Kamotsuru visitor center, you can enjoy tasting and shopping after learning all about sake through some exhibits and panels.
When we were in Saijo we found the Kamotsuro Brewery was the best to visit as we were greeted on arrival, shown to a room where we watched a 10 minute documentary on the complete process of making sake. The room also had many photos and items used in the process. We were then invited to try as many types of sake as we liked. I must admit that i was not so keen on most of them but i asked which was the best, and i actually liked it so i bought a bottle to take home.
