Painting in France

Painting Holidays in the south of France. Also 1 day workshops and 1/2 day classes, en plein air and in our studio. Open to all. Beginners welcome. All materials and equipment supplied.

I attended three of Simon's Thursday morning classes whilst staying in our house in a nearby village for the summer, visiting from Australia. The classes were very relaxed and enjoyable and Simon is an excellent teacher and artist. I learnt a lot and completed a painting every week during the class. All paint, paper and brushes were provided. Both Simon and his wife Monica are really nice, welcoming people and I met other interesting and friendly people in the classes. Great coffee too! I would thoroughly recommend Simon's classes (although perhaps not too highly as I would like to attend again during the summer next year - I hope there will be space!).

Sketching France

Fun workshops and holidays to capture moments in time and the very essence of life in France. Learn the art of quick sketching with watercolour to see your subject and get it onto paper. Artist Annette Morris will show you how to start drawing on location with tips and tricks on materials, page planning, colour mixing and much more. Annette is fully bilingual English/French and has been resident in the south of France for over 10 years.

Whether you have never sketched before, want to brush up on your technique or simply have a fun day out, Sketch Languedoc is for you! I loved the class I took Annette Morris, enjoying particularly the freedom and spontaneity with which it is possible to produce beautiful, vibrant sketches within such a short space of time. Our group contained people who have sketched for years and complete beginners and we all learnt something new and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I can highly recommend this experience for both holiday makers and residents alike. You will learn how to see your holiday destination or even your own back yard through new, refreshed eyes and it really is great fun.
