The building’s ground floor houses a distillery producing gin, whiskey and other spirits. On the 1st floor you can find a cocktail bar and restaurant called Tislaamo - Distillery Bar. Opening hours: Wed-Thu 4pm-11pm, Fri-Sat 4pm-2am. Distillery tours are available on Fridays and Saturdatys at 6pm. For groups tours can be arranged at your convenience. Tours may be topped with a tasting of The Helsinki Distilling Company's products.
We had a really enjoyable night at The Helsinki Distillery Company. It started with a tour of the ground floor distillery which, while brief, was lots of fun and very informative. After that, we had a tasting in the top floor private room before heading back to the main bar for many delicious cocktails. The vibe there was very busy - reminiscent (unsurprisingly!) of NY's meatpacking district...

The market Square in Helsinki is a must if your a foodie! The fresh berries and vegetables were beautifully displayed. One food I tried at the market was Lihapiirakka, which is an everyday Finnish dish sold in supermarkets and often available ready to eat from fast food trailers. It is a form of savoury pie or turnover made from doughnut dough and filled with a mixture of minced meat and cooked rice then deep fried and coated in sugar. It's an acquired taste of course, very tasty, and ever so popular in Finland.
