Located along the bluebell walk at picton castle the welsh owl garden houses a large selection of owls, with daily flying displays and intractive sessions it is a great day out for all the family.
We had our son’s 8th birthday party in the Welsh Owl Garden, and what a truly wonderful experience it was for adults and children alike. We were given use of the large tent for the day which provided ample space for everyone, including food and drink for the kids. Ian and his colleague were simply fantastic. We had a good hour with them bringing different animals and snakes into the tent. They were extremely knowledgable and informative and everyone thoroughly enjoyed handling the various creatures. My son was in heaven being able to hold and learn about three different snakes. Even the reluctant children got involved, which was great as they will hopefully take this experience away with them and remember that snakes are fascinating creatures and to be respected, not feared. Einstein the bird was hilarious, as was the skunk. It was a fabulous experience, educational for everyone and a great place to have a children’s party. The staff at the Owl Garden are dedicated and are clearly expanding, homing different creatures and providing them with a truly lovely environment in which to live. We had full access to the Owl Garden (such beautiful creatures) and the grounds of Picton Castle which allowed the children to run around in the great outdoors, something which they all loved. Not an iPad in sight! Highly recommended for a children’s party with a difference, or just a great day out.

Enjoyed a great walk in the Preseli Hills during our recent holiday in the area.Car parking was easy in an off road park. We followed a path that had obviously been traveled by quite a few before as we didn't want to get lost in a place that was new to us. We were walking in mid-November and there were places where the ground was really boggy so take care and wear good footwear. We did take on our walk on a lovely clear day, which is essential if you want to really appreciate the views. My dog, Holly Terrier, and I didn't come across any farm animals on our walk but if you have your dog with you take a lead as there were a few wandering sheep in the far distance.

A stunning sandy beach which just gets so much bigger when the tide goes out and you can then walk along the beach to Broad Haven. We parked at the hotel we were staying at but I believe there is parking available near the beach. Lots of rock pools and can go for a walk along the coastal pathway. The Castle pub is right there overlooking the beach supplying drinks and takeaway food as well as the Corner Cafe. Also lots of holiday accommodation available to rent. Definitely a beach to visit with kids.
