Harrogate is also known as "The English Spa." For centuries, visitors have flocked to the mineral hot springs. Today, those springs still soothe the body while the placid RHS Harlow Carr Gardens and Yorkshire Dales national park stimulate the soul. Tea rooms, architecture, and art galleries are the main pastimes in this pleasant town. With four rail stations for easy transport, travelers can board trains running between Harrogate and York, Leeds, Knaresborough, and London.

A Unique Gallery specialising in Modern British Ceramics, Sculpture and Paintings. An inspiring art gallery in the heart of North Yorkshire exhibiting eye-catching contemporary sculpture and exquisite ceramics from some of the UK’s finest artists and makers. One of our main objectives is to make sculpture and ceramics far more accessible. We, therefore, practice a hands-on approach to the works we have on display encouraging visitor interaction whilst discussing the processes used in their creation. From the outset, Nick Bentley strived to bring work of the highest quality to the original Nunnington Studios gallery, then Kirkbymoorside, the gallery continued to improve the offering with world-class sculptors, internationally renowned painters and one of the finest displays of modern British ceramics available in Great Britain. During the summer of 2020, the gallery relocated to Harrogate. Viewing by appointment is recommended and days and outside of those advertise is always possible.
One of my favourite art galleries! There's a huge range of beautiful art available for a range of budgets and I could easily spend hours looking at everything. The best thing though is the outstanding customer service. Nick is incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. As I don't live locally I've generally purchased art from the website (which is also great!) and Nick is incredibly quick at responding to queries. He also personally delivered some artwork that was a little too delicate to post despite it being quite a long trip out of his way. I'll definitely be returning to buy more art!

Worth visiting on three counts, to see inside the former Old Town Hall building, to see a fascinating collection of paintings, posters, photographs and drawings related to the area and, when ww visited, to see a temporary exhibition of the work of Yorkshire artist Ian Mitchell, which I loved. The building was built as the Old Town Hall in 1812 and looks quite modest from the outside. Inside, the main hall has had a number of uses through its life including as a theatre where performers included Lily Langtry and Oscar Wilde. Today the art displays are arranged so that you can still appreciate the architecture of the Hall. A friendly welcome is given on arrival and there is a good shop. Plus, the gallery has free admission.
