Harlow is a former Mark One New Town and local government district in the west of Essex, England. Situated on the border with Hertfordshire, it occupies a large area of land on the south bank of the upper Stort Valley, which has been made navigable through other towns and features a canal section near its watermill. Old Harlow is a village-size suburb founded by the early medieval age and most of its high street buildings are early Victorian and residential, mostly protected by one of the Conservation Areas in the district. In Old Harlow is a field named Harlowbury, a de-settled monastic area which has the remains of a chapel, a scheduled ancient monument.

Dropped by the Shark to watch the football and get a drink. Excellent traditional pub , great staff and proper ambience of a proper pub. Bar man so connected to the locals and the vinyl LPs on the wall finish the traditional job. Off the beaten track so Sat Nav’d it and glad I did. Will be back next time in Harlow.

This pub is an absolutely Brilliant place both as a local, a music venue and a private venue. The service I received when I hired it for my 60th was outstanding. Garry went above and beyond in making sure my special occasion went without a hitch. Having used it for some years as a music venue I recommend the Herald, its staff and the highest quality of customer service possible. Thank you so much for 1 of the best nights of my life
