Nestled in the mountains, Hakone's trains, trails, and gondolas showcase the breathtaking vistas of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, including close views of Mt. Fuji. The sulfurous steam from the region's volcanic activity fuels natural hot springs, the centerpieces of the many spas and resorts.

This shop, in front of the Hakone-Machi port on Lake Ashi, sells local Hakone craft beer and Kamaboko (Japanese seafood). It is a popular place to shop and eat along the cool shores of Lake Ashi with views of Mt. Fuji. Kamaboko is a traditional Japanese seafood product, whose history dates back to the 12th century and Hakone and Odawara is famous for Kamaboko. In the store, you will be surprised to see variations of Kamaboko, steamed, grilled, poached or fried, with herbs, cheese, or fruits, train shaped or heart shaped, or authentic or modern styled Kamaboko. In addition at Hotoriya, Suzuhiro's Lake Ashi shop, we grill special Takoyaki inside the store. Takoyaki is usually wrapped with wheat flour but ours are grilled seafood dumplings of fresh octopus wrapped in fluffy Surumi. Our Hakone beer is brewed using spring water from Hakone mountains. Hakone beer’s pilsner has been awarded First Place at the International Beer Award, 2016 Japan's Brewer's Cup, and the Asian Beer Cup.
