Absolutely stunning scenery if the weather is right - and go to the loo before setting off on the trek! Also remember to download the audio prior to your visit so you don't have any connection issues and because it is far cheaper with no roaming charges. Brilliant commentary I thought and the Maori element was welcomed.

Me and my partner experienced our first wine tasting tour - we absolutely loved it. Phil makes for an entertaining tour guide. The scenery was perfect. We enjoyed many types of wine we didn't know we liked. It was also very educational. All in all, a great tour i recommend everyone does. It isn't too long or too short either.

This privately guided bicycle tour, starts from our base located inside the Wellington Railway Station conveniently located near all the major hotels, ferries and cruise terminal. View the Houses of Parliament and the Beehive, before heading on to the waterfront cycle lanes passing plenty of public artwork and buildings of significance, including Te Papa, the Museum of New Zealand. Once past the golden sands of Oriental Bay, the route then heads towards the wild south coast, home to Little Blue Penguins and the unique Victorian architecture of Wellington. Visit the Meridian Energy Wind Sculpture Trail before heading back to the beachside village for an ice-cream or barista made coffee. Before returning to our base in the railway station, two more stops will help explain the conservation story of Wellington and a nice photostop. The route is flat and follows cycle lanes. Wind can be a significant factor in Wellington; some fitness and a good level of bike confidence needed.

The guides were fantastic, any bike issues we resolved before we left. They even provided a rain jacket (which thankfully we didn't need, even though the ride started wet) We set off, with many stops to ensure the group stayed together, constantly checked how people were going. Felt very safe when we were guided to follow the road side for the tour around the heads. Lots of information and time for questions to be asked. Then it was time to ride back.... Well didn't the weather turn it on... The group was split as the return trip was into 45kmh wind gusts, but the guides were able to keep with the split groups and still provide info and answer questions until we were re-united as one group. Highly recommend the tour, even if you are not fully into cycling.

A group of 6 of us used Green Jersey's shuttle service for cycling the Rimutaka cycle trail. They delivered us from Martinbough to Upper Hutt to start our cycling and then a return pick up from Featherston to Martinbough over the Easter weekend. Joe one of the owners sent through advice and information pre trip, which helped usdecide where to cycle, we pre paid which was great and during our trip learned of other services offered. We will return and do more cycling trips with this company. A great service at reasonable prices.

Graham from Leisure Tours picked four of us up from our hotel for a half day wine tour, visiting four wineries with lunch included. He was friendly, very knowledgeable and pointed out places of interest as he drove us to the Waipara Valley. We were very comfortable in his people mover with plenty of room for us all. Lunch at Waipara Springs Winery was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. The three other wineries had knowledgeable and friendly staff telling us all about their wines. We tasted several varieties and they were delicious. Graham had a good rapport with each winery and took us into each of the tasting rooms. We would certainly recommend this tour. We look forward to visiting Christchurch again and would contact Leisure Tours regarding the other tours they offer.

Fiordland Lodge and Doubtful Sound. Fantastic ferry ride across Lake Manapouri and bus ride over the Wilmot Pass to board the Fiordland Navigator for 2 nights. 3 sunny, calm days to relax on board, spoiled by the chef's lovely food and Courtney's very knowledgeable commentary about the Sounds, history, wildlife, birdlife and little things like having complete silence in the Sound to enjoy the peace and look at the amazing mountains and their reflections in the calm water. An unexpected run out into the Tasman Sea was a bonus. The Fiordland Lodge is an American style Lodge built with lots of logs and wood and stone, very spacious. Friendly helpful staff. Located 6km from Te Anau. Our only concern was the lack of food choice for dinner, on a 3 course meal was offered, no light meals. The breakfast (included) was lovely, as was all the food, some interesting variations in tastes.
